Wedding Band

Both rings are classic and timeless. I think it is a really good choice!!

The style is fine, but that particular ring is too thin. It would be in great danger of going out of round and possibly losing stones. A pave band should be 1.8-2.0mm minimum. Plus that likely will look more in proportion to her e-ring shank.

I highly recommend Victor Canera for that style band. He is careful not to sell bands that are too thin and prone to problems and his pave is outstanding.

I think you can go with either full or single cuts. I have a MRB solitaire and the single cut VC bands and I think they still look great together.
 
After much thought I think we're going to order the U cut pave from VC.

Finacee has a RB solitaire. Should we be worried about the friction of the band and the engagement ring and the potential for the diamonds on the band to fall off?

Also, are VC's prices pretty non-negotiable?

Depending on the setting, the tiny prongs of the wedding band may cause some wear and tear on your wife's e-ring. For example, if the stone is held in a basket, then if the basket sits low there may be some contact which can be a problem. Many wear a very thin spacer ring between the e-ring and the band to solve this problem.

She can always try on some pave bands with her e-ring and see if there is any contact. If so, over time it could damage the prongs/basket of her e-ring.

If you're concerned about the melee falling off, I believe that would be more a function of what she's doing while wearing the band. House work, doing a lot with her hands, etc. poses more risk for the melee to fall out.

Yes, I would get a thin spacer with that setting (which is gorgeous by the way!). The prongs extend all the way down to the base so there will be contact with the band. Usually 1.5mm spacer works, but it's best to try on when you actually have the diamond band.

If you show VC these photos of your wife's e-ring you can also ask him what he recommends.

I have done some research but I am still not sure I understand the difference between single and full cuts. Any clarification would be great :)

Well I'm not the expert on melee, but full cuts have the full 57 or 58 facets and single cuts I believe have like 17 or 18 facets. As far as which one to use, maybe do a search on PS and also ask VC what the difference in look would be between the two.

Either will be gorgeous though :).
