Hello all,

I had a question about a site that sells a wedding band that I am looking at. www.weddingbands.com.. I am looking at some platinum bands on that site that my fiance and I both like. They are both 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium (sp?). Is this site reputable? Are there others that I should instead be paying attention to? I really like that they tell you the weight of the ring as well. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, it seems like a trustworthy site since it has the Better Business Bureau accreditation at the bottom.
When looking for sites to buy from, you have to look for seals or stamps of accreditation. Brilliance.com is also a site for wedding bands that's worth looking at. It has 9 seals of accreditation (Better Business Bureau, McAffee secure, Authorize.net, Google checkout, Paypal, iVouch, Jewelers of America, Comodo and Trustpilot seal.)

I would certainly not rely only on seals of accredidation when making this (or any) purchase. The prices I looked at seemed rather high as well. Check out the website of some of the vendors mentioned on PS and see what you find there.

.......are you affiliated with either of these websites?

That's kind of what I thought. And in regards to the prices, they do seem to be a little bit higher. However, the weight on the ring I was looking at was also higher. I believe it was a heavy wide platinum band weighing about 16 grams for about 1590. Most other sites had similar looking rings (although standard and not heavy) for 12-1300, but the weight on those (I emailed some of the companies to ask) was only about 12 grams. I've looked on Whiteflash, James Allen, even Blue Nile and a few others, but so far weddingbands.com has my one or two favorites. Is this not a reputable company?

Honestly I don't know their reputation, they may be just fine. You could try doing a search on PS to see if they have been mentioned. Should you decide to purchase from them just make sure to print out the return policy on the website and pay by credit (not debit) card. This will give you protection in case there are any issues. I think this is a good idea for any on-line purchase from a vendor you are not familar with.
On a happy note, best of luck in finding your band at a great price :)
