I''m on a quest to find the perfect wedding band.
My e-ring has 1 Carat center stone w/ graduated side stones (5 on each side, the biggest side stone adjacent to center stone is approx 4pts.)

Here''s a Sholdt e-ring that the jeweler used as a model to make mine:

Bands I''m considering:

1. Milgrain Diamond Ring: 11 stones (.65tkw) going half way w/ shared prongs or bead set

(similar to Tiffany''s Legacy Band Ring, except not eternity)
http://www.tiffany.com/shopping/Item.aspx?sku=GRP01548&mcat=&cid=288152&search_params=s+5-p+4-c+288152-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

2. Prong Set Diamond Ring: either 9 or 11 stones (.65tkw) going half way - - 9 or 11??? what do you think??

I want a band that''s comfy and shiny that goes w/ my e-ring. Doesn''t have to be too matchy-matchy though.

Your help, suggestions, and your pix are sooo welcomed!!!

Thanks.

Callie,

There are some cool ideas on the Antique Engagement Rings website-- looks like most of them have millegrain like your ring:

http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=23

The site won't let me copy the photos, but their style number L1107pl is nice and thin--you could do one on each side of your e-ring. Just an example.

There is another site that has nice bands:

Here is an interesting one (the photo is not showing up, but click on it--it opens up to the ring I was looking at!):

As far as the number of diamonds on a half-eternity (for example), I think instead of using a certain number, have the jeweler start and stop the diamonds at the same place as on your e-ring. That is just my two cents worth, hope it helps. I know you will have fun shopping!

Thanks for the links, NeverEndingUpgrade.
I like the first one:

I like the general style of L1107pl, but think I want a thicker band...like 3mm.

Wonder if I should stick w/ the milgrain.
But ppl seem to think that prong setting shows off diamonds more? Is that true?

Would a 9 or 11 stone PRONG set band even match my e-ring?

(Yes, ring shopping is always fun!!!)

I think you can''t go wrong with either band. They both are wearable and beautiful to look at. I also have some bands I bought for when I travel. I suggest going on this website:

http://www.michaelbeaudry.com/old-site/index.htm Go under The Vault and then under Beautique. You''ll see the bands on the bottom left. I wear them all the time and I LOVE them. I wear one on either side or both together when I''m not wearing the ring itself.

These rings have an antique look, so I hope you like looking at them.

It looks like the side diamonds on your e-ring are bead set, so I would think that if the band had the same setting, it would look good. Prong sets are good for center diamonds to set them up to show them off, but on a band, it is really not necessary. That is not to say that if you find a band you like that has prong set diamonds, that you should not get it. Go with what pleases your eye.

I just looked on the Sholdt website, and they have a band style number R360B-PD that looks like it is a matching band to your e-ring. It looks a lot like the Beaudry that chic1 recommended.

I like the antique style band. Very nice.
Is it considered pave w/ milgrain?

It is pave all the way around. There is milligrain work but I absolutely love the engraving on the sides. It''s just a little something extra for the owner of the piece. I''ve been told that eternity bands with diamonds going all the way around is a bad idea, because people lose them. I''ve never had that problem with my bands. Have you heard this?
