I have a 6 prong tiffany style e-ring...so today i tried out some 5 stone shared prong rings that I love the look of. I really like the .25 ct better than the .5 or 1 because they look more delicate. My problem is, since it is an odd number of stones, the prong sits unevenly with my ering...meaning there are 3 stones on one side, 2 on the other...
Is there such thing as a 6 stone ring? Does anyone else have this type of band/ring combo? Thanks!

I have a 5 stone ring, 1ctw w/ .20 stones. I''m not sure why you say it''s uneven. Just put it in the center of your finger and the odd number should be fine. If you''re talking about the 5 stone smaller size not having enough finger coverage, then you can go up in size or have one custom made in a smaller size. Some places (B&M) have different numbers of stones on similar bands but you''ll just have to do some homework yourself and go around looking and trying on until you find the size/coverage you''re wanting.

Yeah, I realize I can put the ring in the center of my finger to center it. The problem is, the setting I like (shared prong) allows my solitaire to sit snug in between stones. However, since there are an odd number of stones, this leaves two on one side of the solitaire, 3 on the other. So aside from a custom job, I was wondering if there were any 6-8 stone rings out there folks could recommend.

Thefacetscollection.com has some nice diamond bands with varying numbers of diamonds in them. However, most seem to have odd numbers of diamonds in them. I''m sure you could get them to make you one with an even number.

However, a different style from the exact one you tried on may not fit under your solitaire as well as the one you tried on, depending on the height of the ring, etc. Also, you should make sure the diamonds in the band aren''t rubbing against the head of your solitaire because the diamonds will wear away at the metal.

I think your best best is probably to speak to the people where you tried the ring on and ask them about getting the same ring, but with a sixth diamond.

Thank you!

in the ring above, the edges of the diamonds are not exposed, am I correct? This looks like a setting that is more appropriate instead of a shared prong where the diamond edges will be in contact with the prongs of my e-ring...do you agree?

I would get a band with diamonds half around the band, this should pretty much solve the problem. Also, it is common for girdles of the stones to be exposed in shared prong bands and you may want to wear a thin spacer band in between your e-ring and your band.
