I would like to second this information. I was looking to see if there had been any complaints about Barry Fisher wedding photography as I started getting worried about my pictures and found this post. I got married in October 2004 and I still have not gotten my proofs back! He also does not readily respond to my e-mails and as the previous poster said, both his numbers that I have are no longer working.

Do not book Barry Fisher Wedding Photography.

Thanks

I am dealing with the same exact problem as these two people are with Barry Fisher Wedding Photography.

I contacted Barry Fisher after stumbling upon his website, while looking for a photographer for my May 22, 2004 wedding. My fiance and I were very strapped for cash, and we were having problems finding anyone in our price range, so we were very excited to find Barry Fisher. He had a package that was right in our price range - an economy package for $745. We contacted Barry and booked him for our wedding almost immediately. We signed a contract with Barry, as well as wrote him a check for half of the total cost. Barry Fisher did an excellent job photographing our wedding and we got everything that we had hoped for. He was paid the remainder of the balance the night of the wedding, and we were promised that we''d receive our proofs in two weeks. We did indeed receive our proofs in two weeks, and we chose the pictures that we wanted enlargements of, and sent them back a month or so later. We waited and waited, and we never received anything in mail from Barry Fisher, so I attempted to contact him via postal mail. When Barry didn''t respond, my mother-in-law logged on to his website and found a Florida phone number for him, so I attempted to contact him that way. I had to leave a message, but Barry did call me back, stating that he had received my proofs as well as my letter and would have them to me very shortly. I never heard from him again, and I never received my pictures. I tried to contact him again about a month later, and the number that I had called before was suddenly disconnected. I wrote him an e-mail and received no response. Finally, after finding myself completely lost and frustrated, I sent another letter to him in hopes that it would be forwarded to his new address. I stated that I wanted my pictures, as well as my negatives returned to me asap, and if I didn''t hear from him within two weeks, I would be contacting my attorney. Barry Fisher did not respond after the two weeks was up, so I found a website online that had another complaint for Barry Fisher, and I hired them to help me out. They sent Barry a letter via postal mail on March 23, 2005, and suddenly, yesterday I received an e-mail from Barry - promising my proofs, prints and negatives to be shipped in April. I doubt that I will ever receive my photos, since he''s already made a promise like this once, and didn''t follow through. Now that I''ve found even more complaints about this photographer, I REALLY doubt I''m ever going to see my pictures, or my money. This is pathetic and I can''t believe I''ve been scammed like this. Not only am I losing out on a lot of money, but also precious memories of my wedding day that can''t be replaced. I hope that I am wrong, and that he does return my pictures to me, but I am worried that it''s not going to happen. If anyone else is experiencing a problem with this photographer, feel free to contact me! And to everyone else: DO NOT BOOK BARRY FISHER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY.

I think I might be going through the same thing. I sent my proofs back to Barry in Feb.2005 and haven''t heard from him since. I emailed him a few weeks ago and he hasn''t replied. After reading everyone elses complaint just tonight I emailed him again. I''ll let you know whether I hear from him or not. A few months ago, I remembering looking at Barry''s website and noticed that he changed a few things around. I noticed he had a new phone number and recognized it as a Florida number. I know I wrote it down somewhere. I''ll have to try to find it. Please let me know if anyone had any luck with their photos.

I''m so sorry that this is happening to all of you!! This is one lousy excuse for a human...

To repeat what I posted in another of kahmad''s threads:

You should be able to take this individual to small claims court for a nominal fee. As long as you have copies of the executed contract and bank statements verifying what you paid him, and the proof that he answers potentially new customer email but not yours, then you really shouldn''t need an attorney. It sounds like you have a good case for that type of venue. However, even winning a case in small claims, you may encounter some difficulty collecting from the judgement... But this guy really needs to be held accountable in some way...

and:

if he fails to show up (for court) then it is almost always an automatic judgement for the plaintiff...

If it were me, I''d be really tempted to get a new yahoo/hotmail email address and contact him as someone else, make arrangements to meet with him and then serve him with court papers when he shows up.

Good luck!!

Sorry to hear.

Free bump.

I can''t believe the number of people out there he has scammed. My husband and I got married on July 30,2004 and he has done the same thing to us.

We too were sucked in by the low economy package. All I wanted was the proof and negatives and a small picture package. We really liked his work when we first met with him and thought that everythig would be great. I explained what I wanted, many pictures of us and our children (we each have a child from previous relationships) as well as pictures of our guests. I explained that my father is a very shy person and would not be comfortable posing for the traditional father/daughter pictures. He madea note of everything and then said he would see us on the day.

The day of our wedding he was pretty awful. He spend a ridiculous amount of time taking this stupid picture of me in front of a mirror. At least 30min. He took one maybe two pictures of me with my daughter and then when my father came to see me Barry exclaimed, "Oh, this is your father! I thought he was dead! Well let''s take a few shots with him." I already explained the situation to him but now of course my father was embarrassed and felt obligated. It was extremely uncomfortable. I was ticked.

Each shot took forever for him to set up. It was a nightmare.

When we got to the reception he was more interested in his meal than in taking pictures. My DJ didn''t even eat to my knowledge but Barry made it a requirement.

My proofs did come back by August but they were pretty terrible. Lots of bad shots. The only picture he took of my entire wedding party had my matron of honor cut out of it. And that stupid mirror picture. There must be a 10 copies of it!

When I did send them back for my enlargments they ended up at a mail store. About a month after I had sent them out my husband got a phone call from one of the stores employees who said that she tried to contact Barry to pick up the pictures but he told her he didn''t know who we were and that she should just throw them out. He wasn''t even going to both to come get them! Fortunetly she called us and we now have our proofs at least.

When we contacted the police he of course changed his tune. I emailed Barry a list of the proof numbers from the backs of the pictures along with our preferences. He told me that we would have our picks in 12 weeks. By the time of our first anniversary Barry was gone and we did not have our pics.

At this time I have found from other web sites that he has filed for bankrupcy and we cannot sue him for money. I have filed a complaint with the BBB of Montgomery County and will be filing with the DA''s office in Phila. I also contacted the police again in my township and they have issued a warrant for his arrest but as yet have not found him to serve it. These are about the only steps anyone can take as of now. I will be informing the detective who is handling my case about his move to Florida. If anyone has that number or any other info please let me know. Hopefully one of us can pin him down and we can get some justice. At this point I just want to get my proofs and see some action.
