Website to find pricing of fine Jewellery

Hi everybody,

I am looking for a site or contact who lists fine jewellery pieces to be sold at wholesale. If possible, looking for one that lists what other wholesalers are listing their pieces for, based on individual pieces being sold to retail market. Need this to be able to sell to my jeweler.

There’s no such thing.

There are, of course, certain items that jewelers buy from regular sources and this even includes a certain amount of finished jewelry but it’s not correct that jewelers all buy from the same sources, that they all buy the same things or that they are all paying the same prices for things that look similar, or even identical for that matter.

Add to that the fact that a jeweler who has an established relationship with a vendor for merchandise is unlikely to switch their loyalties to you without some incentive to do so. This means cheaper prices. The regular ‘wholesalers’ routinely offer consignment, return privileges, help with advertising , financing and many other benefits that you aren’t able to include.

Buying things that look like bargains to you on the plan that you can make a profit at it by selling them to your local jeweler is a near guaranteed failure, as is the plan of selling second hand merchandise back to a store for ‘wholesale’ prices. Unfortunately that’s just not how it works. Most jewelers are actually reasonably savvy businesspeople (at least the ones who are continuing to make a profit and to stay in business are).
