to help a newbie out, which web diamonds vendors are most trustworthy to give an honest opinion of a stone(ie whether it is eyeclean and which ones to stay away from?

Up till now I have only worked with Whiteflash. I can give you a big two thumbs up for them!

any of the vendors who's names consistantly pop up from the consumer's here would be trustworthy. always double check by entering the vendors name in the search box. You'll see Goodoldgold, Whiteflash, pearlmans, engagementringsdirect and winfields (wink Jones) pop up often and I would consider all very trustworthy when describing a stone.
