I will! I went to Mark at ERD and he had 2 for us to choose from. One was a 1.71 I VS2 and the other was the 1.63 H VS1. For some reason, the 1.63 looked larger and prettier. The 1.63 also had fewer, chunkier facets which I preferred.
Why did the smaller stone look larger? He said that the proportions were exactly the same on both rings. Can color alone achieve this effect?
We are going to be setting it in this type of a setting, but we are going to have it open on the sides instead of going with the scroll design:
OH MY GOODNESS! That setting is soooo beautiful, you have to come back with TONS of pics when you get that baby! All i can say about your stone looking better is that it was probley cut better, better proportions, i really don''t know but that the only thing i can think of.....EC are different, you have to look at them in person, you can''t just go off paper.....I know your diamond is gorgeous, and its going in that setting, oh my!!!
I was literally JUST in a meeting with a woman who had an emerald center stone flanked by traps and I couldn''t stop staring at it! It was gorgeous!! I love the design of it, your ring will be stunning!
(As a side note, she wore a round brilliant eternity band on her right hand as her wedding band which I loved as well!)
It''s very possible that the other emerald cut is deeper than this one, thus the other one faces up a bit smaller?
that makes sense! we didn''t really talk about the ratio, but he did tell me that the ratio was the same on both stones. This one did look fatter though which is why i liked it so much. i hope it sets well! having a ring made is a very unnerving experience! i hate not knowing exactly what we will end up with! oh well-i trust mark and i think the diamond we selected is beautiful
now i have to wait!!!!!!!!
