Our hearts were broken when we lost our boy, she will never replace him but we love her so much already.
Meet Ada, she is a 10 week old Great Dane. We adopted her Tuesday evening. She is so sweet and goofy. She is an adjusting pretty well. She loves snuggling with our daughter Emma.
Oh my goodness, she is so adorable @mom2dolls! I know what you mean about not replacing another sweet dog--each one is so precious, and Ada is fortunate to have landed with you!
Adorbz! Love seeing other people train up a puppy because while I am super envious that they have cutest pups I remember what it’s like to potty train.
Thank you! She is such a sweetheart and all puppy. She trips over her own huge feet, wants to eat everything.
I have always wanted a Great Dane. We really lucked out with her. I started looking at dogs over the weekend and had contacted a local rescue. They had lab/shepherd puppies that would be ready within a week or so to meet. Little did I know my husband was planning to surprise me with her. He had to let the cat out of the bag when I was speaking with other rescues on other dogs.
We reached out to the gentleman that had listed Ada and her sister Grace on puppies.com on Monday evening. We set up to meet her Tuesday after work. I was a nervous mess. I couldn't believe it was real.
We pulled into their driveway and here come Ada's mom and dad. They are huge! Then out came Ada, Grace (both fawn's) and their sister who is a harlequin. Gorgeous! The harlequin was already spoken for (of course!)
I sat down on the driveway and wanted to see if either pup would come snuggle and play. Ada was all over my daughter & I. She was giving kisses and trying to eat Emma's ponytail. They were a surprise litter. The gentleman, Vaughn was in charge of keeping mom and dad apart during mom's first heat. Well, fail! Thank goodness!

So sweet! It is a wonderful thing that our broken hearts can take in a new animal with so much love. We need them and they need us - a win/win! Enjoy your precious new pup!
Oh my goodness! she's adorable! And sounds like a great bonding is already happening! I love great danes (well not their poops...lol) they're super dogs.
We ran into a Great Dane in the vet once. My dog took one look at him and backed out the door. Haha. I remember his owner laughing and saying a lot of dogs have that reaction. His dog was such a gentleman. Very gentle and sweet.
