While I can''t say I did the same, I also can''t say that I wouldn''t have lol! As long as the vendor is perfectly aware that you are just trying it out and will be expecting your money back (if I''m understanding you correctly?) then I think it''s okay.

I picked out my ring while my husband was in Iraq, so they set it and kept it at the store until he came home. I drove three hours round-trip to see that thing at least six times, even though I had pictures of it on my finger as well as pictures on the website. I just always wanted to be "sure"! It is a big decision and I certainly don''t fault you for wanting everything to be perfect!
