I'm looking at wax models for a ring being made.
What should I be looking for? Exact shape and design or more approximate shape.
I'm just concerned that edges look sharp.

The design looks great otherwise.

Thanks for your input!

I don't know too much about wax models, but I think they should be pretty close other than the polishing, of course. I am really replying to bump this for you!

Thanks for the bump diamondseeker!
I did a little research and I think understand the process now. I'm good with what I'm seeing, just got a little nervous. :loopy:

okay I'm going to tell you a storywhen I was getting 1 of my rings done at a brick and mortar storethey showed me a wax model but mine was going to look likeit had a really Boxee shank that was the cathedral they had a big gap in the side that I didn't likeI told them I didn't like it that it needed to be more smoothly gap needed to be filled in. they told me always just house WAC models looks a dose of Boxee this will be all smooth down don't worryan ass for the gap in the shake they said all will fill it in don't worry this will be all perfect.they told me up and down how it's just how I act models look they just look Boxee everything will be 5 so I trusted them and told them to go ahead with the design with the modifications we had discussed, well fast forward to it being done they did not change any of the things that I said needed to be changed and when I brought it up they claim they didn't even remember the discussion we hadpoint of my story is to basically make sure that the design elements are exactly how you would want them to beif you seen their work and you think it's beautiful and the wax model just looks a bit Boxee out a magic that's probably just because of how X model done but if there's something about the design you don't like make sure they make you a new wax model before you go ahead with it

Thanks nielseel!
I do trust this vendor. They're a well regarded PS favorite. The design is actually very straightforward. I just suddenly got a little frantic that I was unfamiliar with inspecting these types of models and didn't want to miss any details. I had originally planned to buy a stock setting, so I had not really thought through the process.
