So... I've always liked watermelon tourmaline and having seen that AMAZING w.tourmaline ring on Pre-loved, I am jonesing to get myself one. Can someone help me pick out an inexpensive slab that I can have danielm or some other etsy artist fashion into a ring? I am not fond of the faceted bicolor tourmalines, I like the slice/slab look.

If it's a pair, I might turn one into a ring and use the other as a pendant. I like this pair from etsy, what are your thoughts on it?

Also, I was thinking of bezeling in silver (to keep costs low). Good idea?

I also like this piece from Ross-Simons - http://www.ross-simons.com/products/639560.html

Any other pieces you guys would suggest? My budget is low as I have recently purchased some pricey goodies from Whiteflash! :appl:

Thanks guys :))

22 x 18 mm is too large for a ring. Even the smaller 18 x 16 mm is impractical to wear as a ring stone.

Love love LOVE the Ross Simmons piece ! Totally gorgeous. :)
GO for it !

Keep in mind that the diameter of a size 6 finger is 16.5mm and that you need some metal around the stone to keep it in place ;) The 16mm by 18mm stone would probably be larger than your finger diameter, which means it would stick out the sides. It can be done but it would take a good design for it to look good.

I like the RS necklace. It is so pretty with the toggle in the front.
