Hi there,

First off, I''m so addicted to this site. So much great information!

My bf and I started looking for an e-ring a few months ago. He wanted me to pick out the perfect ring since I would be the one wearing it. He was afraid that I wouldn''t like what he picked out. He just wants me to be happy.

We searched the local malls and I saw a few rings that I like, but they were way overpriced for the quality. I knew that I could do better and started searching the net. I came across PS about a month ago. I did some research and found a diamond and setting from GOG that I liked.

diamond

This is an Isee2 diamond which scored a 9.5.

My boyfriend recently purchased the diamond and it is currently at Vatche being set. This was purchased sight unseen and not appraised prior to purchase.

However, I just noticed that some of the info on GIA report and the info from GOG are alittle bit off. Should I be worried? Some examples:

GIA: Table 56 %, Pav. depth 43.5 %

GOG: Table 54.54 %, Pav. depth 44.54 %

Report Type: GIA Diamond Grading Report
Round Brilliant
Measurements: 6.12 - 6.15 x 3.75 mm
Carat Weight: 0.85
Color Grade: F
Clarity Grade: VS1
Cut Grade: Excellent
Depth: 61.1 %
Table: 56 %
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None

Additional Information
Crown Angle: 34 %
Crown Height: 15 %
Pavilion Angle: 41 %
Pavilion Depth: 43.5 %
Star length: 60 %
Lower Half: 75 %

Comments: Pinpoints are not shown. "[Isee2 symbol] 1044380511" is present on the table facet.

I''m looking for some reassurance that this was a good diamond to buy sight unseen.

Thanks!

Maybe others here can address the data conflict.

But, I think you could also ask Jonathan. Based on both the good rep from GOG, and the diamonds that are ISEE, I think you''re doubly good.

GIA measurements are rounded, and I think GOG uses a Sarin or helium scan that is actually more accurate. If it was sold as a hearts and arrows stone, you have nothing to worry about! Their stones are outstanding! (Just looked at your stone and it is gorgeous! F VS1, too!

Thanks for the input. I just needed to hear someone else say it was a winner!

Sappergirl - Yes I believe it is a winner. There is a discrepancy between GIA report and GOG data on the web site. GIA is correct (or is closer to the reality) and it agrees with Sarin data provided separately, which in turn explains the BS result. Although it is similar to the actual diamond you purchased in diameter and weight, GOG data on the web is probably for another diamond. The C/P combo does not match BS result, and 38 degree UGF is unusual in their stock. Yours is a good one, no worry.
