I put a diamond on reserve! :D

The stats about it are 1.08 carat G-SI2 Triple X with the only major inclusions being twinning wisps which I've read are the best to have. On the HCA it gets a 1.6 with Excellent for Light Return, Fire and Scintillation. The Spread only got a Very Good.

I was also told by the store who had the diamond in house that it is a H&A cut. I am not sure how to verify that without getting it appraised, but other than that I'd love to hear some feedback if I should move forward with this one or pass on it!

I have been given a price of just under $6000 for this.

Stone looks fine. Are they verifying that it is eyeclean from top and sides (and from what distance)? As long as there is a return period in case you don't like it for some reason, you should be okay.

Yes they verified eye clean!

Should I get the stone first to get it independently appraised before they set it in a ring? Or should I have it appraised after it is set?

If your buying from a trusted vendor your probably fine to wait and have the stone and setting appraised at the same time. If you have any concerns with the stone, then I would have the stone appraised unset. Congrats, it looks like a beautiful choice.
