Hello.

I've recently purchased an engagment diamond from "peoples jewellery" in Toronto.
When I walked in and looked at diamond, it looked perfect. It was on sale, had already being presetted on 18k 4 prong white gold ring.
Due to resizing and adjusting the setting to Noth, South, West, East setting, it took me 2 weeks to receive it. When I had looked at the diamond, I noticed an "indented natural" on the corner of the Girdle. I may have not seen it at the time of purchase or it may have been hidden with existing setting.
My question is, is this diamond ring worth what I paid for?

Doing a quick PS search for stones of the same specs, the prices ranged from $2,252 USD to $2,883 USD. Without knowing the value of the setting and the B&M markup, it's hard to say whether it's worth what you paid for, though I do think you could have gotten a better deal online. Can you still return it?

Return, can find something better for that money. I wouldn't get an I1 for an engagement ring unless you specifically know the person wearing it is okay with that. Also, I wouldn't pay even one penny for a 'warranty,' they are generally just not a good deal. I'd just get jewelry insurance.

Thank you all. I have better idea of what I should be looking to buy. As for my diamond ring, I will take it back to shop for refund.

Glad you are returning it. I'd stick with no lower than GIA SI1 for an engagement ring. Also, be sure you insist on GIA excellent cut.
