Okay, so I know the thread title is gross but still...I''ve had plantar''s warts occasionally on the bottom of my feet. In the past, I''ve used those Dr. Scholl''s pads - the tiny round circles with salicylic acid on them - and they''ve worked quickly and easily. Until now. Mind you, I''ve only had this happen a few times over the years but I got two plantar''s warts right now - one on each foot and each in exactly the same location, weird, I know. I thought they were callous'' from the treadmill so I ignored them for way too long and recently, when I showed them to my doctor she said they were indeed plantar''s warts. So she tried to freeze them off, but nothing happened. So I started using the Scholl''s stuff but it''s hurting my skin. Today at the manicurist, she told me about two wives tales that she claims work. One is taking a little potato slice and taping it to your foot each night (I really dont want potato juice on my nice bedsheets!), and the other one apparently was in a lot of papers - tape a piece of duct tape over the wart and leave it on until it gets ratty and replace the tape. Apparently something in the tape adhesive suffocates the wart and kills it off.
Has anyone heard of these remedies and if you''ve used them, did they work? Or if not, what has worked for you? I''ve gotta get rid of these things and I dont want to have them cut out and be off my feet if I can help it.
Thanks to anyone who has any "wart" info to share!
