Hi PS''ers

I want/need your honest opinions on my CAD''s. I know it is ultimately my decision but I believe in feedback, positive and negative. If you like it, tell me, if you dont, tell me. Would really help me if you tell me why....

As an FYI, the prongs on top are intentionally not bent yet so do not consider that. ALso, below the center diamond located on the head are various pave diamonds inserted. (In case the pic is not visible clear enough.)

I have 2 pics to upload so hang tight.

Seriously ya''ll, tell me what you really think, either way....no worries.

Thanks in advance

It's very pretty. Personally I just prefer settings that taper in toward the head, but it is lovely. My only concern is that with a wedding band that matches the shank in width it's going to look really thick.

Well, I have to say I think I''m loving it...is that 3 rows of diamonds down the shank or how many?

I think it looks exactly like what you said you were looking for. Are you happy? Is there any concern about a matching pave band rubbing diamonds into each other?

ve the profile view!

I think it''s exquisite! Do you have wedding band ideas? I think that would be the only thing I''d be concerned about.

The width of the shank is 2.7 mm''s....I tried to pick something right in the middle regarding thickness. The CAD looks thicker but WF sent an email warning me that it will look thicker than final design as it narrows once they cast, file, and polish the shank.

Yes, three rows of diamonds, I did see posts regarding "rubbing against the wedding band" but I figured I would worry about that later...actually, I wont worry at all, maybe my imminent bride will tho...

Yes, it is what i was envisioning...........but that doesnt mean my vision is good......I do wear glasses ya know!!! Hence, the need for feedback........

I think it looks like a flower. Beautiful.

And I don't like a wedding ring with a band next to it. I've never worn one. Engagement ring only for me. Why add something extra to a good thing? It just takes away from it. IMHO. :)

It looks lovely! 2.7mm isn''t incredibly thick, at all.

I would be concerned about it rubbing with a wedding band though. You may not be concerned, but your gf may want to wear a band!

That head is yummy!

I''d also be concerned about a wedding band rubbing on the three-sided pave though.

Here is a pic of the matching wedding band which is 2.5 mm thick. You can also see from this original pic where I changed the head completely....am appreciating the feedback.

I love the setting. The new head is beautiful -- much more graceful than the earlier one.

I love the new head on it.. It makes it look more graceful, if that makes sense!

i think your set is lovely =)

i''m VERY impartial to the pave, it''s very beautiful

I think it will be absolutely gorgeous.

It''s beautiful! Your modifications to the original are a huge improvement. I would ask about the band rubbing because you don''t want her to start losing diamonds, but visually, it''s stunning.

I love the new and improved head. It is really beautiful. 2.7 mm is not that thick and I think the matching wedding band will only compliment the e-ring. Great choice.

I love the head that you have- the details of it, is gorgeous, if another pave wb, I would be concerned with rubbing, but a plain band, would look just as lovely next to the ring, that ering, in inself is a show stopper.

I think the design is gorgeous, but I''d recommend against the "worry about the wedding band later" plan. You''re taking the time and money to invest in a gorgeous custom ring, so I think it''s worth it to think ahead a bit to what you can pair it with for the band.

"Matching" sets are just that....they match visually. That doesn''t mean they are meant to be worn against each other without soldering, and it seems most women today don''t want to solder their sets together.

I''d recommend going with a two-sided pave instead of three-sided, and doing the same when it''s time to go with the matching band. The two non-pave sides will sit against each other creating a less damaging set.

I think you have done very well it is going to be a beautiful set.

I think a plain band would look lovely!

I love it!! The detail on the crown is lovely from the side and the prongs are great. I prefer slightly more thin designs, so personally I''d probably go with a single row of pave. This is just preference though... Overall an exceptionally beautiful ring.

Ok, I am now officially worrying about the rubbing of the wedding band.......is why I asked for opinions. A consensus opinion definitely gets my attention. Thanks so much for the insight PS''ers..

Mine too.

You did a fab job on redesigning it. Beautiful!!

Before I call WF and stress them out again.......isn''t their some sort of ring guard invented that can be used between two bands to prevent the rubbing? I am envisioning some sort of clear, micro thin plastic that would separate the bands??? Surely their is something on the market? Yes, No?....

Yes, you can get one made in the same metal type as the set. Here's a pic, and a quote from someone who has one.

cmcspacer.JPG

Well I don't think it is wierd at all. I think that a spacer band is another one of those where you are either ok with it or you just plain old don't like it. I have a spacer bar because I was having a scratching problem between my two rings. I did not want to give up my shared prong band, therefore went with the spacer. Would I have been happier without the spacer? Probably yes, however I really have gotten used to it and I really don't mind it. My spacer is not notched like you are looking for. It does sit square with my ER and WR, though. The spacer is 1.5mm and has a tiny surprise sapphire inside the band! My WR band has 5 stones, 1.10 ctw, the stones are graduated, however so I'm not exactly sure what each stone's weight is.

Ok- seriously... That ring is freakin'' gorgeous!!!!!

I would tell you the truth if I thought something didn''t look right or something, and that ring is superb!!

Can''t wait to see the real deal!

Is there? Yes, I'm sure there is. But... since the ring hasn't been created yet, I would definitely think about tweaking the design ever so slightly, and avoid the problem altogether, rather than trying to fix it down the road.

The new head design is absolutely spectacular, by the way - it's going to be gorgeous!

Why not go with a single line of pave on the engagement ring, and then the 3 sided for the wedding band? They would still compliment each other beautifully, and then you wouldn't have to worry about losing diamonds due to them rubbing.

Allison's idea of the 2 sided pave might work too - but I'm such a symmetrical person, that it would drive me up the wall to have them uneven like that.

Wearing either the band or the ering alone with the 2 sided would seem odd to me.

ETA: Calling WF won't stress them out - they want you to be happy with the end result!

I absolutely love it!
