I'm getting married in April and we want to re-set my 1.55ct Hearts and Arrows Ideal cut diamond. Here it is:

Not only do we want to purchase one of these wedding bands, but we also want to create a new setting for my diamond using a band just like these. The smaller one has 3 pointers and the larger has 5 pointers.

Here is a photo of my e-ring with the 5 pointers. (Again, no wedding bands have been purchased yet!)

(When we reset my diamond, both bands will have a prong setting like the wedding band. Then, the bands will fit flush and won't have the gap.)

So the question is...
Re-set my diamond with 3 pointers or 5 pointers along the band? Again, you can see these two options above in comparison.

My options are:
1. Re-set my diamond with an eternity band made up of 3 pointers. Get an eternity wedding band made up of 5 pointers.
or
2. Re-set my diamond with an eternity band made up of 5 pointers. Get an eternity wedding band of the same carat weight (5 pointers)

What do you think???

Will the e-ring with 3 pointers make my center diamond look bigger? Or do you think the 5 pointers are a better thickness/proportion to my 1.55ct diamond? Need help! Thank you! :twirl:

I'd probably go with the smaller ones for both rings. I do think the smaller stones will make the e-ring diamond look bigger. But I don't think I'd like the two different sizes. I will tell you that with those exposed diamond girdles, you will likely need to wear a spacer band to keep the two rings from damaging each other, so think about how that might look. For myself, I prefer a plain, thin e-ring setting and then I can wear almost any size diamond band with it.

Ditto exactly!

I agree, I'd go with the smaller stones. You have pretty hands, btw!
