Want to put my stone in a Beverly K ring

I've been lurking around for almost a year at this point. Its about to be that time. I need some help on what/how to get the ring I want.

I want a Beverly K ring. Pearlmans, Dimend Scaasi will be 6-7 weeks out on the setting as they will have to order it. I did some online shopping and found the setting I want with some other stone in it (sapphire or aquamarine or something) available right now in the right size at the right price. The online e-tailer will not set a diamond in it for me for some reason. They suggest I buy the ring/setting from them and then go to a B&M buy a stone and have the stone swapped.

Part of me says, "whats six weeks more after six years?" But that doesn't fit into my time frame. I guess I didn't realize it took that long to get a designer ring.

I need to put a diamond in it. I have learned enough here to purchase a diamond, but how do I go about getting a diamond I purchase online set in a ring I purchase online?

This is a small (for around ps) stone we are talking about.

You''d have to email the vendor who has the stone and ask them if they''d set it in the Beverly K. You''ll likely have to pay a fee for having it set.

6 weeks is normal. My e-ring took about that long to make. 6 weeks after 6 years is NOTHING. It will be worth the wait. I think you should have the diamond first (if they allow you to have your own stone) so the head is made perfectly for your stone.

I am leaning towards ordering it and getting platinum.

The cost to order it greatly exceeds the cost of buying it where it is in stock. Not in dollar value, but in percentage cost of the setting (25% more to order the same ring in 18K white gold ready for a diamond, the price to step up to platinum is very small comparatively).

We have a tripped planned, where I was gonna pop the question, in a special place. She knows its coming and I''d hate for her to be disappointed when it doesn''t happen as I am sure each of us has been over it in our heads a million times. I really don''t want her to think its never going to happen. It could turn a weekend away into a real black cloud.
