So, I''m looking for a pendant for myself for my 30th birthday (OMG, I''m old! LOL). I''d like to keep it close to $1000 (not totally set on that), so I''m thinking maybe like a half a carat in a bezel setting. My wedding set is platinum, so I''d like white gold. I saw one on Blue Nile which fit the bill, but I''d love to get some ideas from you all as well. Plus, my e-ring is an ACA, so I can''t just get a premade pendant because I''m spoiled now. I have some ideas, but figured it''s always good to get some ideas from others. Thanks!

Have you seen this thread: Pendants

I''m looking at it right now! Thanks :). It''s super-helpful. I already know that I want a small full bezel and I want it to slide. There are so many details to think about!

I love the half-bezel look.

Jennifer, I just saw your pendant. It's lovely! Do you find that the J faces up okay in your setting? Where did you get your setting? Thanks!

Edited to add: I just saw your thread about your necklace - nevermind ;)

I'm so anal, I have to build my own! I saw that L stone today, but I'm sort of nervous about putting it in a white setting - I need to do some more research!

Hmmm, I just saw an ACA .494 I SI1 at Whiteflash for $998 - that would be okay. But their bezel settings are a little more pricey (since they''re platinum). What should I do about that? Local? Something else? My husband doesn''t mind when I go a little over budget, but I don''t want to go crazy. This is technically a gift from him (although I am picking it out!)

Mara, thanks - I just saw that K - you think it would be okay in white?

Edited to add: oooooh, I just saw the other stones you posted. What's a girl to do?????

Hmmm, that looks good too!

Honestly I would totally put a well-cut K into a pendant! When I see how darn white my J is on my finger, and it''s a 1.60c so it''s not small....something like a .50c K would be fabulous in a pendant. Especially with a bezel which would hide any side color at all that may be visible (probably none but the bezel would help make it look even whiter).

Personally I like that K because it''s SUCH a good price for a well-cut stone, $200 cheaper than the .47 J SI from WF. But that WF stone is also nice, it''s an ACA but doesn''t seem to have much markup which is a huge positive! It''s much cheaper than the .50c J SI from WF!

i love the .5 size range

maybe you could ask wf for a quote on making a wg bezel.

Thanks Belle - I did ask them for one and it was pricey

. I think because they custom do it. It was almost twice the price of the platinum ones on their site. But, I do like the ACA stones and sort of feel loyal to them because my engagement ring is one (isn''t that weird?). So, I might go over for the platinum one - we''ll see.....

custom is amazingly expensive on small projects like this...i actually prefer a platinum pendant just because if you stress the chain then it seems less likely to give than softer gold. my pendant is platinum, i wanted WG but it just ended up being platinum and now i like it that way.

sxn...i still do have a round stone, my avatar is just wishful thinking, that is a 5.5c cartier asscher plunked down on my ring. as if!

my thoughts, i say check out the K because of the fabulous price...and also check out that .47 ACA that is $800. those two are both nicely priced and will keep you under the $1k most likely if you can wheedle a better setting pricing out of WF.

i understand

once you go aca you never go back....er...something like that.

LOL Belle!

And LOL Mara - I thought your husband won the lottery or something!

Thanks for the advice about the platinum - I hadn''t really thought about it that way, but it does make sense.

best of luck in your search, i''m looking forward to seeing what you decide!
