I have a budget of approx $15k and want the best bang for my buck. I really like round and cushion cuts! I don't like halo...just simple diamond with eternity type band. I would love a 2 ct stone. Any suggestions? I keep looking online but don't know if prices are too high or I'm looking at junk! Any suggestions would be so helpful!

Well, you have a nice big budget, do you have a preference for color & clarity...Cut is the most important part of making a beautiful diamond, I would make that a priority.

I don't really know! That is the problem. I don't want any pepper looking stuff in it and I don't like any yellowish color. I know I sound dumb! That is why I am here

In a round, it's very hard to hit the 2ct mark for $15k, but you can get an ideal cut in the 1.5-1.70 range. In a cushion, you might be able to go a touch bigger.

To further clarify, you'd be dropping to I color and below for a round in 2ct at that price. People usually begin to see tint in the I-range. I'd stay G-H and go slightly smaller to get better/whiter color (if that's a big thing to you) and still remain ideal cut.

The stone posted by Kenny is beautiful...It is an AGSL Ideal cut, H color which will be very white in any setting, and an SI1 for clarity eye clean and 1.70 is a very nice size diamond.

Thank you for your help.. This is much harder than I thought. I guess I need to decide which cut I really want first then go from there.
