Pulled the trigger on a E-ring. The setting will be a Verragio Insignia 7003 (0.85ct in 18k white gold).
The center will be a 1.51c round brilliant H&A, H color, VS2
GIA Ex/Ex/Ex
7.36x7.40x4.55 mm
Medium blue fluoro
Depth: 61.7
Table: 56
Crown angle: 35
Pavilion angle: 40.8
Medium faceted girdle
Culet: none
HCA: 1.5
The stone looked great in person, but it's always so hard to imagine the finished product and how it will look when you take it away from a bunch of other sparkly diamonds next to it! Of note, I viewed this stone and a similar stone (which was poorer on HCA) under idealscope and went with this one because as per my jeweler as well as my own observation, the other stone did have some more significant leakage, while this one looked quite good.
I'm really excited and I can hardly wait (about 2 weeks left) to see the final product. My fiance to be is fairly clueless about the art of selecting a good stone, but I plan to educate her once she gets the ring. I hope she will not be disappointed!
Thank you to everyone on PS for providing the education needed to make an informed decision. What do you guys think of my purchase?
