I am getting closer to the 3ct purchase with the help from this forum.

I have used the HCA to eliminate many diamonds and I have two diamonds on hold now

Stone Measurments Weight Color Clarity Cut Pol Sym Flor Depth Table Crown Pav HCA Other

A 9.35-9.39-5.78 3.12 I VS2 EX EX EX None 61.7 57 34 41 1.5 Love the stone, H&A, just concerned about the color

B 9.48-9.51-5.72 3.12 H SI1 EX EX EX Faint 60.2 59 34 41 1.7 By Phone, Eye Clean

Any suggestions or comments? One is $2,500 more.

Both GIA graded? If h&a do you have any images? Either could be great stones - also I would be interested to know what the lower girdle facet percentages and the star percents are too please? So you have seen the first one in person? What are the girdle thicknesses too please?

Both GIA graded

A is 55% and 80%

B is 50% and 80%

I have the Hearts & Arrows Scope pattern, Ideal Scope pattern, AGS ASET Scope pattern but have a tough time posting them to this page

Thanks! Those look good. The images would be great, if you are having difficulty posting them email them to admin and they will post them for you, use the? msg admin button toward the top right of the page.

From the numbers, both look good to me.

I am hoping the Administrator will post for me

Assuming that the ASET and IS are good for both stones, I would pick color over clarity. I hope the "H" stone is the one that costs $2500, but suspect not. If "H''" is indeed $2500 less, grab it. I like it with some florescence and it appears to be "larger" 9.48-9.51 vs 9.35-9.39 (is my interpretation correct?). Otherwise, go with "I" for less money, and put the savings towards a more gorgeous setting that will best bring out the diamond.

I am hoping the admin will post the pics. I am waiting for the pics on the "B" diamond. New quiestion, Do you know of some good websites with a good selection of settings?

I'm loving the H SI with Fluor! I can't wait to see this ring once it's done! You won't go wrong with either

IS and ASET looks good.

From the hearts and arrows images we can see it is obviously not a h&a diamond but nevertheless it is a very well cut stone and should be beautiful.

Thanks for the images Andrey!

After review of the vendor''s email, they stated that the diamond had a Hearts and Arrow pattern. Apparently there is a difference.
Thanks for the imput on the IS and ASET.
A Big Thank You to the PS ADMIN fot help on posting the pics.

It has a hearts and arrows pattern but it doesn't meet the standards as decreed by experts of this cutting style. If you read this tutorial you will see why it doesn't meet these standards.

with that said, it still looks like a beautiful diamond and well worth consideration if not having precise h&a patterning doesn't bother you.

ya, and since it does not meet the criteria of a H&A, I would loath to pay the premium associated with a H&A if it is price as one.
