HI everyone!

I believe this has been discussed before, but of course, I can't seem to find the thread now that I need the info. :wall:

I'm trying to insure my ring by Victor Canera with Jeweler's Mutual. Is the Retail Replacement Appraisal (that Victor mailed along with the ring) and the AGS diamond document enough to send to JM as the required "appraisal, evaluation, or detailed receipt"? Is that what you all sent your insurance companies for your Canera rings?

I just want to be sure they have all the details. Thank you in advance!

I sent a copy of the Appraisal and a copy of my AGS cert.

That is all I needed to insure with them.

I don't think I've ever actually seen the paperwork VC sends out but the test is very simple. Jewelers Mutual's, and most insurers, standards are very low. They'll accept nearly anything. It's YOU who should be being picky here. The purpose of the paperwork you send in is to allow the company to replace the item with another of 'like kind and quality' in the case of a loss and to set a maximum budget to do that. Step 1 is to read it, especially the description portion. Look at the pictures. Imagine there's a loss where that this description becomes the purchase order for the replacement. Is there sufficient information there to make a replacement that's likely to be to your satisfaction? Is the funding provided sufficient to do that? You know what it cost and you just shopped around for competitive offers. Is the value given reasonable?
