Hi I'm currently buying a ring from Victor Canera. I'm curious to all those who worked with him and their experiences. My main worry is the wire transfer. Does anyone have any experience with victor and a wire transfer or a wire transfer in general?. I know he's a reputable dealer just sending that much money can make anyone nervous. Another question I had was how long did it take to complete the setting. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all so much.

Hi I've worked with Victor on a number of projects, I live in Australia so I always wire the money and I have never had any issues with him at all. Lovely genuine guy to work with. Ask him how long it will take for the setting, it will depend on how busy he is at the time.

The only issue I have ever had wiring money to a trusted vendor is the bank staff getting the numbers and or the details incorrect and having to redo them which cost me time and fees to redo the transfer.

Zero concerns about wire transfer to Victor. It seems like, though, that you could send a check and he could wait until it cleared to begin the ring, if you felt more comfortable.

I just worked with VC. He is absolutely brilliant. I had the stone sent to him, did not have it insured while he was setting it, wired him 100% upfront. He promised me 4-5 weeks but delivered in like 3 weeks. Absolutely nothing to worry about IMHO. You do need to worry about something though............................the patience to see your beauty !!! :)

I used Paypal which is safe and fast!
For one of the payments I wanted to wire the amount via electronic anking. However the US bank account numbers do not have an IBAN code (a European standard). So, I chose to pay via a bank cheque. Long story short. Victor did not receive the letter from the bank and my money was missing for a few months. I had to send the amount again to Victor via Paypal and was extremely worried my money would not be recovered. The bank was very slow to respond and took hardly any action. After sending mails adressed to the CEO of the bank, I finally received my money back. And then... After one more week Victor received the bank cheque letter! Victor was really charming about it and patient.
So, my advice would be to use Paypal if you need to make international payments.

Victor will make you a gorgeous ring. Looking forward seeing it!

Thank you all, turns out I was freaking over nothing! Victor is an amazing person to work with and extremely patient. Now all I have to do is wait for my finished ring!

Read all the reviews on the guy, he is 100%

I've not worked with VC but I have wired money to multiple vendors on this site with no issue.

Yay! Your new ring is a beauty! Please post lots of pics in this thread or in a new thread.

For anyone else that kinds this thread in the future :)

- IBAN is just a short form for bank code and sometimes branch code too (BIC/SWIFT). You can generate it for your bank here:

http://www.ibancalculator.com/

It's basically an easy and standard bank 'sort code' system rather than deal with dashes and dots and things in various countries.

- You can always pay VC through paypal but it costs them 3% in fees (or you if you agree to pay for them in paypal), so you'll have to cover those if you choose that route.

- The bank transfer has a fee too, but it's fixed and ALOT less than the 3% you'll pay on paypal.

- VC is great, friendly, very helpful, and extremely accommodating - I often wonder how they don't lose their patience getting the same old emails from every customer "does the diamond look ok", "will the centre stone colour match" blah blah :)

- I ordered the VC Emilya too :) I was promised they'd get it done in time for my deadline (about 5 weeks) and it's just been shipped - about 3.5 weeks total :D very happy! I'll post pics when it's here :)
