you guys are my go-to for advice so here''s another question! Anyone know any great photographers in Vermont or other parts of New England. I think it was lovelylulu who got married in VT but I couldn''t find a post with her photographer''s name in it. Anyone know? Also, I''ve started contacting some but I''m not sure what to ask them, how to differentiate and how important it is to meet them all before choosing. Any thoughts?? Thanks!!!

There is a great website out there that I have been using for all things wedding related called "Style Me Pretty." (www.stylemepretty.com) On her website there is a section called "Little Black Book" that lists recommended vendors by state. She has a few Vermont based photographers on there that look great.

As for what to ask for, the only advise I can give is to really find out what type of services you are getting in the package, how many hours are included, how many photographers are included, what types of albums/packages they offer, if you can buy the rights to the negatives, etc. I have also heard that you should ask to view an entire wedding to see the overall quality level of the photographer. (It''s easier to take 4-5 great shots than an entire day''s worth.) Hope this helps!

Rae Barnes is in Lake Placid NY so I''m not sure how far away that is from the location you booked however her work is amazing! She was my first choice for photogs but she was booked on my date.

He and his wife shot our entire wedding in Quincy, MA- he''s based out of NH. They were here from about 10 am until 9 pm that night- and I''m pretty sure we paid about $2000 for photos- no album, but we got rights to everything and hi-res DVDs.

I cannot say enough good things about Jay- not only were his pictures flawless (I even got featured in New Hampshire Bride- lucky me!), but he and his wife were excellent guests and our friends and family had a blast talking to them at our wedding.

She''s based in Salem, MA, but does weddings all over New England. She has a photojournalistic style, but also does portraits and posed shots. She''s excellent at getting the small details no one else might notice, and incorporating them into her albums. She was really the only person we were interested in, so we didn''t interview anyone else, but I think it''s very important to get a sense of the photographer you''ll be working with by meeting them or at least speaking on the phone.

We used Closed Circle Photography, which is based in Boston but she does various New England locations also. Her style really matched what we were looking for (not too stuffy but still professional and wedding-y, a little fun, great color and composition), and we got all the images on CD which was important to us. We were really happy with the work.

A good friend who does weddings all around NE: http://www.lexiphotography.com/ she even gives away one wedding a year to a couple with really great reasons for needing free photography. Lexi is the best, she and her husband did out e-pic session and we just loved working with them. For the first time EVER my DH smiled naturally on film. priceless! our epic session plus photobook was 200ish. Check her website for availability, she books up way in advance.
