Hello,

First post. apolgoies if this is the wrong forum, please let me knwo where to post if this is incorrect.

I''m a newbie looking for a ring. Think i''ve found a ring from a local chain jeweler which has small diamonds on the shank and halo. If i purchase from this local chain jeweler, how do i verify the diamonds on the ring when i get it aren''t fake or swapped out with a lower grade? (i''m no pro on diamonds)

I know i can get it appraised by another jeweler after i purchase and take it out of the store... but by leaving the store, how do i then prove that the local chain jeweler was the one who swapped out the diamonds and not me?

Any insight from the pro''s would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The odds of swapping out are pretty slim; diamonds that small are just not going to be valuable enough to be worth it.

Hi needaringer

Most jewellers work very hard to acquire and keep a good name, therefore the chances are exceedingly remote that these tiny diamonds would be swapped out. Does this ring have a diamond centre stone?
