Okay. Help. Need you input.

Here's my table on the Venue comparisions. My mother likes Wente, it looks more established and impressive. John like Martinelli Center because he's worried about the space issues in the Wente reception hall. I'm torn because they are both right, and they've asked me to decide.

Here's my table outlining pros and cons.

I saw the photo gallery, plus it sounds like in your poll- you like the scenery/ feeling of the wente better. I would agree. I see that they aren''t as flexible on all your needs, but I might personally overlook that for the beautiful atmosphere.

I think it sounds like you like the Wente a bit better, but if you''re thinking you''ll have 120 rather than 80ish guests, maybe the other one would be better? Not sure how well a beautiful venue will work if everyone is crammed inside it.

I''s go with Wente....especially after seeing the comparison chart.

I just think its the better all-around choice for you guys.

I was all set to vote on the Martinelli Center. I agree that it sounds like you like the Wente more, but the size constraints would really worry me. Then I saw that you had date issues with the Martinelli Center. For me, that would be the deciding factor, but I think you need to figure out what means more to you, having the sentimental place/date, or having more people. If you will be able to keep your guest list small without feeling guilty or regretting not having certain people there, then go with the Wente.

It sounds like Wente wins or comes even in everything except size. So you need to firm up your guest list, then make a choice based on how many you expect. If it were me, I''d limit the guests and choose the Wente. But it''s not me we''re talking about, it''s you

Gypsy, did you post a link to the Martinelli Center? I googled it but there was just one picture of the outside of a building and I''m not sure I was at the right place. I know I liked Wente when you posted about it.

I voted the Martinelli. Other than the date, all the things the Wente won on seemed kind of small and knitpicky like the wine on the first aniversery. As a guest I would hate to be forced into a crowded space and I think it would cut down on the mingling and the dancing if it is too tight.

I would go with Wente and try and tighten up the guest list.

Thank you guys! If you can keep the votes coming I'm really appreciate it!

Here's the answer to some questions. Guest list is tight. 91 on it. 75-80 expected. Wente SAYS the room can hold 150, but unless they switch from rounds to rectangular tables none of the three of us can see the space working for more than MAX eighty. If it's eighty, the dance area would have to be moved to another section of the the halll... the prefunction area. Which means we'd have to stick the (expensive) DJ there too. And then the wedding, which would already be a morning afternoon affair, would probably not be very warm, and no one would be inclined to dance. John dislikes the idea of the dance area there, and so do I. The guests would have to crowd themselves and stand to see our first dance. We're going again next weekend there, do discuss room layout options so I'm hoping maybe they DO have rectangular tables or something.

http://www.herecomestheguide.com/location/detail/garre-vineyard-and-martinelli-event-center/ has the pics of Martinelli center. All the pics are of the Martinelli center except the one with the tent and the one with the giant oak tree. I would really have to get the table cloth overlays you see in the pic of the function room to warm things up. And I think my flower arrangements would have to be tall ones to make the space work. But it WOULD work. And I can do the centerpieces myself. I'm was thinking topiaries on each table. It's just that the overlays and the topiaries would cost more money than I had budgetted. And the budget is already straining at the seams.

Hmmm, I can see why you''re having trouble deciding. Okay, here''s what I think. I think I love the outdoor space at the Martinelli center more than the Wente (and I LOVE the staging area -- big oak tree pic -- of the MC). I love how both look on the inside but the Wente looks warmer and more personal than the Martinelli Center. I do think, however, that you could make the inside of the Martinelli Center just as warm with flower arrangements, etc.

So which would I probably choose? Martinelli Center.

I'm not sure about 10-3 with a DJ and dancing, other than you two. The weddings we have been to with dancing were all in the evening. The last noon wedding we attended had a sit down luncheon and no dancing. So my vote would be the other place and have it in the late afternoon or evening.
