VC has announced his own super ideal H&A diamonds!

WOW! I just saw that Victor Canera will be launching a line of super idea hearts and arrows diamonds hopefully in the next couple of months! I cannot wait to see what he has to offer!

Oh, I seriously doubt he is stopping taking outside stones! I am sure he just wants to add a product line. And for those who plan to buy a setting from him, it would be convenient for them to buy the diamond there as well!

If any jeweller decides not to set outside stones, well, another jeweller will turn up to fill the void. Like DS I can't imagine that VC would implement that sort of change hastily so I'd guess you have still have some time, even if he does decide to move in that direction in the future!

I'll be interested to see what's new with his H&A line.

Ditto this. The signs are pointing that sooner than later, VC will no longer accept outside stones.

I believe he takes outside stones for the main stone in a ring, not melee or stones for a band, etc.

Victor isn't Leon and vice versa. I do believe Leon takes outside stones but I think there was vendor tension for a while which is why he stopped taking certain stones. We don't hear that problem too often these days and I never had a problem with Leon not taking outside stones.

I guess I see a difference because Leon never spend money creating his own cut stones. He may have "branded" some stones but I don't think he actually cuts his own stones. If I was to come up with my own diamond lines, I would also be inclined to sell them over outside stones.

Leon, Steven, and Victor are all now selling diamonds. None of them has stopped taking customer stones.

Victor has no plans to stop accepting customer stones for the center ring stone. If a customer has not bought a diamond, then he offers to source the stone and the advantage is that he covers the stone while setting and it is just an easier process for the buyer. But he does not plan to stop setting outside center stones just like LM and SK who also sell diamonds.

Chrono, Victor has been sourcing stones for awhile. I know when mom2boys had her 5 stone ring made, he sourced her stones. All I can tell you is that I emailed him and he said he has no plans to stop setting customer provided center stones. He'd be cutting off a crazy amount of business if he did that! If he sells his stones at good prices, people using him for a setting will find it easy and advantageous for him to provide a diamond. But he is not going to require it because he said so.

We are all speculating about the future and who knows if he changes his mind later. Time will tell. It seems a waste of time to worry about such things that are out of our control in the first place. For now and the near future, it is safe to say that he will continue to accept outside stones per his email to you. I thought Whiteflash was crazy to stop accepting EGL graded diamonds and outside coloured stones but it seems to not have hurt their business in any way either.

WhiteFlash's primary business is selling diamonds. They sell settings primarily to provide settings for their diamond buyers.

Victor is a master designer/ring maker. He is also offering diamonds like Leon and Steven as a secondary thing. But his primary business is selling gorgeous handmade jewels. We aren't going to see him stop taking customer main stones. He has plenty of repeat customers here who have supplied their own stones, and I am certain he will still be really happy to do their upgrades and resets!

I see no benefit to speculating when he has made his intentions clear.

Although my man has told me not to think about my next "project" until I receive my SK split shank ring... I'm certain that I want to commission VC for my next project! I've email him previously and I definitely think his communication style and prompt response to his customers is just second to none.

What do you ladies/gents think of the images of his potential H&A line?

Well... goodness! Given the outpouring of enthusiasm in the OP I'm not sure what I was expecting - something rather more exotic than a regular ol' H&A I guess! From the hearts pic it looks to be proportioned like the WF/BGD H&A lines.

It will certainly be of value to buyers looking for RBs who also want VC to make their settings

Patent conflict seen from GOG's side and Victor decided against accepting the stones due to that.

That is correct. BI he denied my project too but I thought he would as he has a long standing rule to not set customer stones unless they are the capstone. The earrings studs would be considered capstones. Diamonds from eternitys would not be. Hense why we were denied but M2B had no issues.

You can try Steven. He is more flexible and would likely take your stones. He has my frencies and suggested that we make a band.

Yup- at least for me Steven did respond to my request for a quote and was enthusastic about what I wanted to do. M2B if you haven't already picked a vendor I would seriously consider him. I would have gone with him in a heart beat but when it comes down to it I had credit at JbEG and I thought stylelistically they would produce a more art deco band. After looking at your inspiration pics I would think Steven could nail that design.
