I have recently purcahse dmy girlfriend a 1.6ct princess and have "temporarily" set it in a X-prong knock off. It is actually a bit more squared off than the Vatche which I like and she likes too. I purchased the stone, setting, and had it set from the same place... Union Diamond. I did this becasue I wanted to propose soon and didn''t want to wait the 4 weeks to have the stone set by Vatche!

Well now I''m kind of glad I waited because it seems Vatche is not the only one with a very high quality platinum X-prong. Jeff Cooper also makes platinum X-prings which he calls Lttice settings and actually hs more variaty with side stones and invisible set baguettes in the band. Also, the band seems more "squared" off.

So I''m looking for some opinions on the following settings. One from Jeff Cooper and the other from Vatche:

Thanks for any input!

I was also looking at Jeff Cooper's settings recently and I really like them. I think the angular look of them really complements a princess shape better than a rounded band. And with all the Vatche around, why not have something a little different?

I also like the Jeff Cooper better with a princess stone. The straight post-like prongs compliment the angles in the stone. The Vatche setting is beautiful, but I picture those curvy prongs more on a round stone.

Anyone have any pics of a Jeff Cooper ring? Please mention which ring and what type and size stone is set.

There's one on Fay Cullen's site, photograped in great detail:
