I got my upgraded e-ring from Whiteflash in October and, after having to fix an issue with crooked prongs, I was super happy with my ring. Until today... I was typing when I noticed that the diamond was wiggling around and fallen to the bottom. I am just puzzled on how it happened and really annoyed. I had my other e-ring (another six prong) for 14 years and never had a problem.

Has anyone had this happen? Any theories why it happened? Advice on how to fix it and whether I should be paranoid moving forward?

I wouldn't wear it, and contact Whiteflash on how to proceed. Never wear a ring with a loose stone. It's a loss waiting to happen. I hope you get it fixed soon.

I took if off and put it away the moment I noticed. I just cannot wrap my head around it how a six prong, brand new ring could have this issue. I've had my old e-ring for 14 years and banged it left and right and never had any problems with that.

It's definitely strange, and I would not be a happy camper if I were you. I'm glad you noticed before anything happened.

There are thousands of ways it could have come loose. You might have knocked it against a wall or door and not noticed at the time.

One of my clients used to wear her rings while weight lifting in the mornings, she did not realize the weight was flexing the shank of her ring. Another was a golfer, same problem with each whack of the ball.

Fortunately, you caught it prior to the loss of the stone and you are working with a company that will fix it for you. I recommend you contact them and ask not only to have it repaired, but what precautions you may need to take to prevent further occurrences.

The good news is that with six prongs, you are far less likely to lose the diamond than with a four prong ring with the same degree of looseness.
