Last month my fiance proposed with a gorgeous cushion cut diamond in the Vatche X-prong setting in platinum. Well last night, we were taking a walk and I just happened to touch my ring and notice that the diamond is loose! It''s only been a month! And i''ve been very careful with it, and I work in an office, so I don''t really work with my hands much other then typing.

Anyway, does anyone know if I have to send the ring back to Vatche to not void the warrantee? Also, I''d love to hear from an vatche owner on whether you have had any issues with the setting.

I hope this is just a fluke, and not the beginning of many issues

Hi cd,

Sorry to hear this. I''m thinking/hoping it''s a fluke.

I have the same setting in WG, and haven''t had any problems with this (in a little over a year).

Did Vatche set it? You will need to take it to a Vatche dealer, or send back to Vatche, to avoid voiding the warranty.

Yes it was set by Vatche. We purchased the stone and ring from Good Old Gold.

I''m waiting to hear from GOG.

Thanks Ellen!

You''re welcome.

That''s where I got mine from as well. Let me know what you find out!

I think that is routine maintenance that you need to do locally. It will likely cost less than the postage to send it back and forth to Vatche. If it was not loose when you got it, more than likely it must have bumped against something when you were unaware. I don''t see any particular worry regarding a warranty considering there wouldn''t likely ever be an issue that would result in the ring needing to be replaced anyway. Sizing, polishing, and tightening prongs are just things we''ll all have done by a local jeweler.
