So I recently saw on whiteflash''s website that vatche is now making white gold.

That leads me to the question: Is it made with nickel or palladium. Would it need to be re-dipped to make it stay white or is it going to stay pretty white over time?

Thanks

I don't know what the Vatche white gold is made of but it does have the rhodium plating so I assume it will need to be replated eventually.

Well the reason I'm asking is because I've been told in the past that if it's a palladium mix instead of a nickel mix it won't yellow as much over time?

So any vendors know what it's made with?

Email either Vatche or Whiteflash. They may be able to supply the information.

Thanks, I did drop them emails. I was just hoping someone would stop by with the answer.

just for future info in case anyone needs to know. I received a reply from RJ at Vatche:

Thank you for your interest in the Vatche line. Our white gold is
available mixed with either just request which you would like.

Have fun shopping

Which setting did you choose?

Yes, kiwi, I have a three stone being made. It's supposed to be ready this week. I went with the basket setting. I e-mailed Barry (at Superbcert) last night and asked him to find out if my white gold is mixed with nickel or palladium. He said he'd find out today.

And of course I will post TONS of pictures when I get it!

excellent, I can't wait to see pics. I'm sure you'll love it

Jen:

I just got off the phone with RJ at Vacthe. They use palladium unless nickel is requested. Palladium is whiter and lasts much longer. In addition, you cannot be allergic to palladium.

Hey, thanks Lesley!!

Remember, there is no such thing as white gold. Gold comes out yellow. Think of a cup of coffee. No matter how much cream you add, it is still brown. Same thing here. No matter which it is alloyed with, it will always need to be re-plated. Your hands have more friction than any other part of your body. It is only an electro-plating. Platinum is twice as dense and will not have the tendency to wear like white gold.
