Have you sent or received any?

I sent only one to my gentleman friend, to let him know that despite all his faults, I still have a soft spot for him! :lol-2: :lol-2: :lol-2:

It is modified version of the one I sent him last year via a new-to-me online custom card vendor that allegedly never arrived.

There is enough hints that it came from me.

Not going to ask him whether he has received it or not though, as I can't bear the usual grumpy and sarcastic response.

Not yet but I have one for my DH and I know he has one for me. This year no gifts. Yet. You never know what I am going to fall in love with bling wise and just might buy for Valentine's Day...even if it happens to be in March or April or September lolol.

Hope your gentleman friend has a smile on his face when he receives your card. Something tells me he has a soft spot in his heart for you too @dk168
Call it a hunch but I am rarely wrong...

My DH and I did exchange cards and little gifts (chocolate etc) but we also had a sweet text chat while he was on his commuter train which warmed my heart :kiss2:

I hope you get a card in return @dk168!

We are still friends and bump into each other often in town.

We were adults enough to realise it was not working and calles it quits before we had a chance to kill each other.

He had some health issues after we broke up, and I helped and visited him when he was in hospital. He came round with a card, a gift and a bunch of flowers to thank me while I was out, typical.

I was very touched as it was completely out of character for him, and joked it on FB about ME being ungrateful when someone gives me flowers and wished they were yellow instead of pink and peach, without naming any names or occasions, and got a severe telling off in private.

I was very upset to the point of crying, and any hint of reconciliation evaporated for good.

I hope you are right, however I am not holding my breath. Thinking about it makes me smile, and that's good enough for the hopeless romantic in me.

The postie has been and gone so no card for me unless it is dropped off by hand!

I am not expecting any, and would not know what to do if I had a secret admirer as it would drive me nuts not knowing whom it might be! :lol-2:

Enjoy the day.

Good luck @dk168! I am a hopeless (hopeful) romantic and I am holding my breath for you.:appl:

We exchanged cards...off to PT now but here you go. My handwriting is terrible. There is a story behind the cookie/kooky having to do with our very first Valentine's Day together but I will share that perhaps another time if there is any interest.

@missy , it makes me go all goey when I hear/read about other's romantic gestures. :kiss2:

As the saying goes, it is better to have loved and lost than never to experience love at all.

I would add to that: it is better to have tried and be unsuccessful, than to contemplate "what if" and regret not giving it a try.

Enjoy your day, and thanks - I hope you are right too. ;))
