If you have a Costco card, you should check out the Travel on their website. I think they had really good deals going to Las Vegas.
I went in July and stayed at the Luxor. The prices were good for the weekdays.. once you get into Friday, Sat and Sun they hike them up. The room was sylish and spacious and CLEAN. It''s also attatched to the Excalabur so you can walk through a bridge to get there. The friend who I went with last year just came back from there 2 weeks ago. This time she was on a budget, so she stayed at the Circus Circus and they had the cheapest rates on the entire strip. I was scared for her when she went there, because when we walked into the casino last year, the place was filthy. She actually said this time around that they rennovated or replaced the carpets, because her room was good and clean.
If I wasn''t on a budget, I would have stayed at the Wynn. lol The prettiest hotel was the Bellagio. The most night-life entertaining hotel was the M&M. They have white tigers on exhibition at The Mirage, and also a big animal zoo with huge dolphin pool and aquarium. We stayed there for almost half the day.
When you go, make sure to get an all-day shuttle pass if you plan on walking down the strip. It will last you 24 hours, and it''s WAY better than exhausting yourself walking the entire way. Don''t take cabs, they''ll go around the entire city to get to your destination, and charge you way too much money. There are also cheap shuttles you can find when you exit the airport to take you to your hotel. We also got a one day pass for free admission into almost every museum they have in Vegas. It also had discounts on helicopter rides and things like that. I forget what that pass was called, but I''m going out with her tonight so i''ll find out what it was. There are tons of coupons you can find on the internet.
There are so many restaurants that I can''t even begin to tell you which ones were good.. We ended up eating at the Luxor buffet almost every day. We basically skipped breakfast, got there for lunch, and we were full the rest of the day. Sometimes we stopped for a small snack at the end of the day, but we were usually still full from the buffet. Their buffet was awesome by the way.. HUGE.
She drove to Death Valley on her latest trip. She said it was about a 3 hour ride there. There''s also trips on bus to see the Hoover Dam, and there''s the Guggenheim museum.. there''s an M&M world... there''s a bunch of cool stuff besides gambling.
We were too exhausted and actually fell asleep at like 10 so we never really got to do much of the clubs/night life events. We actually were there for the 4th of July and we missed the fireworks becuase we were sooo exhausted from walking all day!
Anyway, hope that helps!
