Love the pictures!!!
My family on my dad''s side is from Northern Spain...so I actually still have family in San Sebastian!!!....I love it there!. My distant family there still owns a bar (more like a tapas place, you know what I mean) that my great-grandma ran/owned her entire life!!! He apartment was right on the top floor!
My mom''s side is from Zaragoza, but I haven''t had a chance to visit that area yet...hopefully one day!

Spent a few weeks touring smallish cities/towns in the Basque region of Spain. Have a few pics to post so it'll take a bit of time.

First stop was Bilbao where we picked up our rental car. Guggenheim Museum is more spectacular outside than inside. My favorite thing was the 40 ft. West Highland White Terrier done in flowers that stands at the front of the museum.

OMG MATATA...I LOVE THIS photo!!!!! I wish that I had your email address, I would have you send me the large file of this, so I could print it and frame it in our house in honor of Portia...hahaha. That is the cutest Westie ever.

We are heading on a 2 week trip to Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon next weekend....super excited!! Love your photos!

Since you''re preggers because you''ll miss out sampling their delicious Port. Greg will have to imbibe & describe it to you. ohhhh, & you''ll miss out on the out-of-this-world Sangria. Oh well, you''ll just have to eat, rather than drink, your way through 2 countries & 3 cities

Greg is ready to imbibe all the cava and port he can get his hands on. I did hear wonderful things about the port selection and he loves port. And yes I love me some Sangria. I do intend to ''sip'' very sparingly here and there, you can''t be in Spain as potential once in a lifetime thing and not just dip your tongue into something so yummy, plus Dr said wine is ok here and there thankfully. Unfortunately for me, food is hit or miss, paella and things like anchovies and squid sound stomach-turning though Greg is excited. I hear Lisbon has fabulous pastries, I know I can live off those! And churros and chocolate ... I can''t wait to have that daily.

churros & chocolate, aieeeee, Mara, they are a heart attack on a plate. I''ve been to Spain 3 times and have watched locals down churros & choc as though they are eating air. I have wine & chocolate running in my veins rather than blood & I still couldn''t eat 1 serving of the churros. The chocolate has the consistency of pudding but MUCH MUCH richer & thicker. I''ve only been able to eat 2 bites before I felt the need to call an ambulance. You have to train in advance, like an Olympic athlete, before attempting this delightful gift. Maybe try eating a dozen Krispy Kremes twice a day before your departure date.

Jewelerman.....I didn''t buy any jewelry. I''ve spent a huge amount of money on my dream acquisitions these past two years. My last project is being designed by BGD as we speak and it will be my last major piece (unless I decide to acquire a tsav which I was going to do before Good Old Gold unveiled their signature OMCs -- had to get me one of those).
