Use of idealscope on mounted diamond

Does it work to look through an idealscope at a diamond that''s already mounted?? Not really sure how they work. The only time I''ve used one in real life, it''s all been set up for me. Thanks!

yes i have looked at mine through the IS mounted and taken a fairly good pic of it too.
