Thanks Cheeto. :nono:
I don't have kids but, I guess, fvck every American with kids.
Nice.
WTF were you thinking, Donald?
Oh wait, you don't do that.

... and fvck anyone who voted for Trump.
This is all your fault! :angryfire::angryfire::angryfire:
I can only assume you don't have children that you love.

Well, as long as big corporations get to pollute and make more money and stockholders get rich too, everything is hunky dory  since none of them have kids that they love.
All that matters is MORE MORE MORE money.

WASHINGTON — Then there was one.

Syria announced during United Nations climate talks on Tuesday that it would sign the Paris agreement on climate change. The move, which comes on the heels of Nicaragua signing the accord last month, will leave the United States as the only country that has rejected the global pact.

According to several people who were in a plenary session at the climate talks in Bonn, Germany, a Syrian delegate announced that the country was poised to send its ratification of the Paris agreement to the United Nations.

“This is the very last country that actually announced, so everyone has joined and the U.S. is now so isolated,” said Safa Al Jayoussi, executive director of IndyAct, an environmental organization based in Lebanon that works with Arab countries on climate change.

Yep you don't give a s@#* about climate change, or how many gun deaths there are in the US, or harking back to archaic laws concerning women's choices over their own bodies, or the full implications of provoking Korea. The rest of the worlds gets it, it's a shame more Americans don't get it too.

@arkieb1 Please don't think most Americans feel this way. There have been many, many days this past year that have made me question how any of this has become acceptable. It's a sad time for many Americans.

I'm not blaming all Americans, and I think this forum proves there are intelligent critically thinking people that live in the US, lovely caring people that live in the US and people of all political sides that don't agree with Trump and his policies. Having said that the rest of the world is still looking on with horror at many of the decisions you are making, to an outsider many of these decisions seem somewhat retrospective or backward looking and introspective rather than things that will really advance/enhance your country, for the good of everybody globally.

Well, you can rightfully blame the American electoral system for allowing a minority to elect a president who, along with the rest of the Republican Party, kowtow to the 37% that is their “base”.

It is easy to see how recent moves by the Trump administration is hurting US standing as a global economic leader. Specially with climate change, decisions made now will affect us years into the future — China is investing in clean alternative energy/technology, while Trump pulls back support in the US in favor of coal. :roll

As Trump pulls the US out of multilateral trade agreements, the world finds ways to move forward without us (see Australia & Canada swooping into Japan’s meat import market when US pulled out of the TPP, and Mexico looking to Brazil and Argentina for corn, usually imported from the US, now that NAFTA is in danger...).

I've given up shaking my head about the things that Trump does. I'll save my neck muscles for something else.

He is an idiot & the rest of the world (& a lot of the US) knows it. I'm amazed he's still in the White House :angryfire:

China *may* finally be moving toward investing in clean energy, but without a doubt, their record over the past 20 years has been Full speed ahead and ______ the environment." Look at the air in many of their cities now. The river between China and Russia is probably still a toxic waste stream, unless Russia somehow got China to stop polluting it. China always says Yes but does as it d___n pleases, with no regard for the rest of the world except as people to conquer and rule over.

Sure they did (and do), but they are putting an effort towards cleaner tech now. Whether their reason for moving to clean tech is environmental or economic (more likely both), it hardly matters. They're moving forward...unlike the US -- which is the point.

China Hastens the World Toward an Electric-Car Future
China Is Poised to Take Over This Industry. America Can’t Let It Happen.

Electric cars: China’s highly charged power play

You don't know China. Their industrial cities are 5X more polluted than L.A.. On any given day there is enough smog in the air to block the sun. The Chinese don't give a S**T about the environment.

... ONLY because of America's LIBERAL presidents and lawmakers over the years.
The CONS only care about money.

Today CHEETO, your CON president, cares even less about the planet's health than any previous of your former CONS.
To your party, all that matters is MONEY MONEY MONEY!

To hell with future generations.

Actually I'm a leftie and I for once agree with DF, Bejing has been enveloped in a cloud of pollution for well over 20+ years this has little to nothing to do with America and more to do with China's own political regime and a very different ways of thinking or as the case may be not thinking about the environment. And lets not forget the level of economic and social and industrial development in the actual country itself. People in China have only really had the freedom to express concerns about the environment and pressure the government to make changes in the last 5 to 8 years, and even then it is a rising wealthy and middle class in China thinking about these things, poor people aren't afforded opinions that count for much there, and rapid industrialisation with little regulation leaves companies open to exploit any rules/targets the rest of the world might set for them.

They may have signed the Paris agreement to combat climate change but on a day to day basis the Chinese cut corners in manufacturing and have very little regard and in some case no comprehension at all of regulating things that are toxic that we in the Western world consider heath hazards in general - some examples that come to mind are poisonous chemicals they put in baby formula, lead they put into fashion/cheap jewellery that ends up in US and Australian department stores, lead paint they use in cheap furniture, toxic chemicals they put in cosmetics for teens. It's well known factories have been dumping toxic chemicals into waterways and the air for years with little to no consequences.

Just because China signed a piece of paper (Accord de Paris) stating they agree doesn't mean that they are taking meaningful measures to actually drastically fix things there. India will also be another one to watch as they like China are emerging out of poverty too, and will become an increasingly industrialised nation as well. I'd argue our (Australia and America's) industrial ages are over theirs is still evolving....

Yup, They don't even give a S**T about killing babies..:(sad let alone about caring for the environment.

Right! ... Well, aborting females that is.
But China cares very much about carrying the males to delivery.
Misogyny much? :nono:

That's explains 22% more men than women.
OPPSIE! :doh::doh::doh:

https://www.pri.org/stories/2013-01-03/china-and-worst-ever-man-made-gender-gap

Partial snip:

Social scientists in China say the upcoming census results could reveal a gender ratio of 122 boys born for every 100 girls.
Under natural conditions, there are typically 105-106 boys for every 100 girls.

In China, millions of baby girls were simply never born.
The country has a certified shortage of women.

I don't think it's that black and white - I blame an oppressive government that taxes them so that poor people cannot afford to have more than one child, if you are only allowed one child and can only afford one child you have to think that many pick the option that will best benefit the family unit as a whole..... So, it's not just a "males are better thing" in a still semi poor environment culturally male sons have better earning potential and culturally are often expected to care for their elderly parents financially too so it's not a simple as men are better than women, you have to understand the history and cultural significance and that in a oppressive country gender equality for the poor just isn't the same as the rest of the Western world yet. No one in the US regulates and taxes how many children you can have and they are not expected to care for the rest of the family.

Comparing the level of environmental and social awareness in countries like China and India is like stepping back in the US 50, 60 or more years, think of it like that, they are only going through rapid industrialisation now and have a different set of cultural values towards gender and indeed equality and inequality than we do because they are so far behind us in their development in regards to these issues.
