Hi Everyone,
New to this blog, yet have heard a lot about since my son was looking for an Engagement Ring
Setting, several months ago, when I gave him my original engagement ring diamond.
And, boy did he have a lot of trouble with a setting that looked pretty on the web, yet all the stones fell out one by one...Really poor quality and you would think after waiting so long for the setting it would be good quality.
Now, I am interested in purchasing a setting for this really pretty diamond we just purchased for my 30 wedding anniversary. My problem is I know what I don''t like not sure what I do like.
most important looking for a setting made in the US, tired of this poor quality everything form Asia (china)....
Need help.
Thanks
Augustmoon

Augustmoon - sorry to hear of your son''s bad experience. I can''t help a lot but I can say that if you get something made by one of the popular custom designers on Pricescope, you are assured of a US made and high quality setting.

examples of custom designers that PRicescope people have had settings made by (in no particular order)

Leon Mege (artofplatinum.com)
Mark Morrell (mwmjewelry.com)
Maytal Hannah (maytalhannah.com)
Van Craeynest (vancraeynest.com)
engagement rings direct (engagementringsdirect.com)
Whiteflash (you guessed it! whiteflash.com)

Other companies represent designers that manufacture here in the US, for example Vatche. Good Old Gold (goodoldgold.com) and Exceldiamonds.com carry those settings and also manufacture settings.

Do a search here on ''high quality settings'' or something like it and you should get lots of results!

Good luck!

Hi,
I am still on the Hunt for a Good Quality American Made Diamond Ring Setting.
All the stores have little selection or have to look in a catalog with one pic.
The reference that were given to me, either have a long waiting period or they are
the same as others have, really plain and simple or lots of glitz. I am looking for
for substance and classic with class.
Please more suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks

Some of the best craftsmen (and women) in the country work in small shops with only one or two employees. It allows them to control their own destinies without the sorts of corporate involvement that can lead to vanilla designs or rushed manufacturing. Pretty much by nature these folks don’t produce catalogs that you can pick through because each item is made to spec for each customer but they will often have samples in their stores so you can see what their work is like. Shop around for custom jewelers and for jewelry shops where they have people with a little bit of dirt under their fingernails and discuss your problem with them. They’re frustrated with it too and they would love to show you why they deserve your business.
