What do I do? It''s acting up now, but it will still turn on. Should I blowdry it? Should I stick it in the dryer? Or should I just live it alone?

I hate to say this - but I think you probably killed it. i had a blackjack and dropped it in slush, it has never turned on after that...

What''s a black jack?

I thought is was a card game.

Hehe, I think she''s talking about the Samsung cell phone.

Ack, I''ve heard you should completely dry your phone before trying to turn it on. DON''T stick it in the dryer, or blow dry it!

1) Turn off the phone, if it''s still on.
2) Take out the battery.
3) Check if the battery got wet, by looking for a little white/pink sticker on the inside of the battery.
4) Take out sim card, if your phone is GSM
5) Vacuum
6) stick it in a bowl/bag of uncooked rice/ silica gel / other dessicant.

Oh, and wipe off any water you see on surfaces. I''m sure you''ve probably done this, though! I hope your phone is ok!!!

*fingers crossed for you*

I second that, but since you turned it on, you may have fried it :-( never turn on a cell phone after they''ve gotten wet until they are totally dry.
Much luck- follow the steps above and NO heat!

DO NOT TURN IT ON. Take the battery out. Let it dry for at least a few days before trying to turn it on again.

Don''t put it in the dryer!

Thanks everyone! I took the battery out and dried as much of it as I could see. I dismantled the phone and I''ve put it on a bunch of paper towels. I guess now I just wait....I''ll be keeping my fingers crossed too!

Did you check the battery strip to see if the water leaked in? If you're still under warranty, the color of that strip will be really important in determining repair/replacement eligibility.

Distilled water.

If your electronic gadget got wet, super wet and you think it will be killed soak it in distilled water for a minute.
open it up and set it in a dry place so it could dry quickly, but not in direct sun.

When it dries distilled water leaves no residue.

It is the dried residue of coffee, coke, tap water (and it's varying conductivity) that remains on the circuit board between electronic components that changes and ruins the operation of the circuit.

A minute spent in distilled water is no guarantee, but it is the best first aide after a spill.

I second the bag of rice idea. It works.

I dropped a palm treo in the water not too long ago. Opened it up and let it dry for a day or two... closed it up, and it was good as new. It makes sense to add distilled water to the equation.

I did this to my phone once, and all I did was wait for it to dry naturally and then turn it on

Good luck!
