I am thinking of purchasing this diamond from Blue Nle and wanted to know if I should purchase it or keeping looking and why.

1.64 Carat,
Cut-Very Good,
Color-I,
Clarity VS-2,
Depth 63%,
Table 59%,
Measurement 7.44 X 7.48 X 4.70

Please give me your thoughts. The sooner the better. Thanks.

Welcome to Pricescope,

We need the crown and pavilion angles to be able to give a useful opinion, and the polish and symmetry grades, but from the info given, it has some extra depth at 63% ( preferred 60 - 62% or a little more) and the table is a bit larger than we normally see here ( 54- 57% is preferable usually). Cut is so important for a diamond''s beauty, it appears that this may be a decent stone ( depending on crown and pav angles) but it is likely you can do better.

In fact, a round brilliant with a 7.46 mm spread should weigh in nearer to 1.50 carats.

The symmery is Excellent and the Polish is VG.

The first thing I would concentrate on is the fact that you''d be getting a diamond that faces up like a 1.50, but you may be paying the price of a 1.60+ for it. It likely has abundant extra weight in the girdle or steep/deep pavilion/crown angles. Who awarded the "very good" cut grade?

Yep! I would look for some more contenders goodlook, as JP points out, this diamond has the spread of a 1.50 carat, so it will look small for it''s weight, you won''t get the look of the 1.64 carats you are paying for.

If you like, give us your budget, size, colour and clarity preferences, and maybe we could suggest some diamonds you might like?

Its certified by GIA but I will admit this is my first time at this. I dont want to go over $10, 500 and was looking for the largest but best quality stone I can get for that amount or maybe a little over. Suggestions would be awesome.

I am hoping for at least a 1.5 carat.

Ok, I have had a quick look for you, found this one, it is a J colour but a superb cut and should be within budget if you pay by bankwire.

This one is I colour and SI clarity, you would need to verify it is eyeclean by checking with the vendor.

This one is about $500 over budget, but might be doable with bank wire payment -
