Hey guys,

I have just been sent a couple of images of a diamond that can't be put on hold for me so I need to make a decision a.s.a.p. so any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Diamond has a HCA score of 1.1.

Also this diamond is from B2Cjewels, any feedback from them would be great as they sent me these images fairly quick but I am new at this so unsure if I can trust the images are of the acutal diamond.

Thanks!

If that is the actual diamond it looks like it has some light leakage under the table.

thanks for your reply! is it significant? I tried comparing this picture to the idealscope reference chart but it looks different and this one has green in it :|

Can you post the numbers that you used for HCA please?

That green is weird, but whatever...

IT's not an ASET.

At first I thought that was leakage, but to me it looks like a light uniform pink, which should be okay - maybe VERY partial leakage??? However, the live picture actually looks pretty good.

For me, when I look at "live" diamond pictures, if the table is "acting weird" and the colors under the table aren't the same colors as the facets around it, then I know the angles are probably sub-optimal. Here, when I look at the live pic, unless it was enhanced somehow, it actually looks pretty good. There are some spots where it's kind sketch, but I don't think it's a bad stone overall IMO. I second putting up the #s though.

Thanks guys, here are the numbers:

Selected: 60.8% depth, 58% table, 34° crown angle, 40.8° pavilion angle
Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good

^^^Hi TItan^^^ :wavey: I posted to you in another thread a few days ago but you didn't see it! :(sad

yeah, I'm reluctant to make a judgement without seeing a report or at least the numbers. I've never seen an IS with the green like this so I'm a little hesitant to offer an opinion on leakage, although aside from the green there does appear to have a slight ring under the table, whether or not this would be obvious IRL is difficult to say. I like Titans theory though. Post the link to the report if you can.

just saw you post the numbers and they look really good. :)) Not sure whats up with the strange IS.

Confirmed my suspicions. It looks great, no leakage under the table.

Christina!!! My friend!!! I said Hi to you in that one HW thread! :wavey: You must not have seen it yet!

OP - this is what I meant if the table looks funny:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Very%20Good-Cut-Round-Diamond-1445901.asp
if you look at the table, it's kinda "brown" so I would think this one is sorta suspect. For example

So does that mean there is no leakage from the table? Confused
The diamond is GIA cert E colour, IF and triple excellent

OP - I doubt that's leakage that's depicted there... with the angle combos like that, there shouldn't be. I think the IS properties under the table is pretty uniform; light pink is OK, but you do want it as uniform in color as possible. White is obvious leakage, which this one doesn't depict.

I think you're good.

BTW, unless you REALLY need an E IF stone... I'm sure you could go a little lower in Color (although DEF are super ICY white) and def. drop in clarity to get a larger stone (unless this is a large stone, or she wants those specs) and save some $$.

Anyway, seems like an awesome stone you've chosen!

Thanks for the comments guys, I am not sure if I will go with this stone as I am in Australia and they may not be able to ship to me in time. Also the comments of the GIA cert say "Surface graining is not shown", not sure what that means other than the obvious

TitanCi, I would love to get a bigger stone (this one is 1.12ct) but future wifey has particular wants which make it a "need"

What do you guys think of these specs:

Selected:
59.8% depth,
59% table,
33.5° crown angle,
40.8° pavilion angle

Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread or diameter for weight Excellent

HCA: 1.2

I need to pay a 10% deposit to bring in the diamond for this one to get the images.

Never mind about the one above, it has sold :(

Looking at another:

62.1% depth,
57% table,
35° crown angle,
40.8° pavilion angle

HCA: 1.7 Excellent

Back to the original stone from the OP.
Negotiating with B2C Jewels on shipping date. They said they will "try" to ship so that I receive it here in Australia by or before 5/9/12 (which is the latest I can receive it as I need a couple of dates to set the stone) and have planned to propose that weekend.

I am not sure how much B2C will try to ship it early but the est ship date is 30/08/12. That gives fedex 4 business days to send it to me. I have had stuff fedex'd to me from the UK before and it have received stuff in 2-3 days but I am not sure of the route from US and if it normally gets stuck at customs. Should I risk it?

OK I decided to order the original stone from B2C Jewels as they assured me that it would arrive to me before or by the 5/9/12. I hope they haven't lied to me just to get the sale and I hope they are an honest bunch as they are a featured sponsor on here so I trust they are not dodgy even though most people on here don't order from them!

Fingers cross!!! Thanks guys :D
