wow thanks for clearing that up about the clarity; i guess the biggest issue is the size right now
any suggestions on where i can purchase such a ring?
I agree. Do not buy on impulse. Educate yourself first.Date: 4/26/2009 10:21:39 AM

Sure. You can get a 1ct diamond ring for half of that. It’s a matter of zeroing in on what you want. An attractive price on the wrong thing is no bargain. You’ve got lots of good advice and I’m sure you’ll get more about specific stones but I have a question. Why must it be done today? It will improve your chances of getting what you want dramatically if you spend a bit of time educating yourself about the differences between diamonds, actually looking at a few real stones and shopping for what dealer you want to do business with. There''s quite a bit of money at stake and you''re likely to be living with this choice for quite a while. This is a bad thing to buy on an impulse or from the first dealer who tells you they’ve got a good deal.

What''s the rush? Why not slow down, learn about diamonds, and buy the most beautiful ring your budget will afford and plan an exquisite proposal for the special woman in your life?
Finding a quality ring takes time and getting a quality setting also takes time. It will be time worth spending to get it right!

People take weeks, and even months to find the right stone. Are you doing an impulse proposal????
I'd hate for you to get something that you think is okay, but your girlfriend may not like. If I got a 1ct frozen spit diamond from my boyfriend, I would NOT be a happy camper. I'd much rather go down on size and get a nicer, blingier diamond. What's the point of having a big stone that doesn't look any different from a CZ?!
EGL are thought to be less strict on grading than the top top labs GIA and AGS, you might already be aware of this but here is more info.Date: 4/27/2009 7:41:54 AM
