Hi!

I''m about to purchase a cushion to have an engagement ring made, i havent paid for it yet so still not locked in but i need some urgent advice on the stone as i''m not sure if i''m being ripped or if it''s a good purchase, i''ve done as much research as i can on these stones but still a little confused what table and depth % give the best overall appearance?
This rock is around the 5500 usd mark

Thanks heaps!!

Josh

I''m no cushion expert but I entered your parameters into the pricescope diamond search tool and the diamonds were
coming out anywhere from $3600-4900. The less expensive ones have a small table (59%)...yours looks like it has
a 58% table (its kind of hard to read). The depth of your stone seems to "fit" into the range of the more expensive
stones.

Ok, so I''m not really sure what all that means because everyone says you cant buy a fancy stone according to the
numbers. So...you wouldnt happen to have any pictures you can post would you?

On paper, it looks like a nice stone but we need pics!

ok thanks for that so far guys! Any cushion experts out there that can confirm either way? i am thinking its a little more expensive because of its size ratio,
yes you are right it is 58table and 67depth, but unforntunately i am flying a little blind because its from BN so there are no photos... does anyone know if a feather on a VS2 is any cause for concern or is fairly negliable?

VS2 feather should be fine, not usually an issue in VS2. As to the cushion itself we really have no way of knowing Josh if it will be a beautiful one or not, cushions need to be seen to be judged and regrettably BN won''t provide images which are essential in order to make an informed choice.

Ok thanks Lorelei, yeh i kinda figured it''d have to be seen to know if its beautiful or not, i''m finding so hard to find a square cushion for a decent price here in Australia! Noone understands whats happening in the states!!! you guys are way in advance n we only have Tiffany or some diamond dealers who offer me asscher cuts when i clearly specify square cushions... i''m thinking i''m just going to have to take a risk and hope that its what i''m wanting and if its not then just deal with the cost of returning it if it comes to it...

any last minute thoughts pls anyone????

Get in touch with Mark at ERD and tell him what you''re looking for and have him pick one out for you. Better than just blindly having BN dropship a cushion unseen.

Have you looked at Good Old Gold cushions? They have pictures and ASET images that people here on PS
can help interpret for you.

Here is one that I was looking at...like I said I''m not a cushion expert...and I dont know if you are looking
for an old chunky cushion or a more modern cut cushion like this one (they have both).

Anyway, here are the links

Well guys i have taken delivery of my diamond!!! Much thanks to PS and all the ppl who have posted such valuable info on this site.

Amazingly the diamond i got was this one on GOG http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/5827/
except the funny thing was that i got this one almost by accident, i saw a diamond i liked on an Australian diamond trader site and upon viewing the GIA cert i felt it looked familiar, so i checked the number on this one and it turned out to be the same stone!!!! This gave me a satisfying feeling knowing that GOG thought it was good enough to sell, only reason i purchased through the aussie vendor was to save trouble with customs/import taxes etc.

I am so happy with the diamond, and so thankful to all you cushion lovers who helped me make this big decision

I can post some pics if anyone is interested tho my G10 isnt quite as good as the GOG camera haha!

Now to find a setting

Oh its lovely!! Try outside when the sun comes up and get the sun behind you and try that way, that should bring out the brilliance and fire.
