Urban Myth or Real - alcohol thru a straw=drunk faster ?

The only logical reason is that the alcohol in the drink settles to the bottom of the glass, and the straw is drawing liquid from the bottom of the glass.

I''m with Bebe - I''m pretty much never drinking to get drunk (in fact I''m such a lightweight its usually the opposite goal

) but I tend to distrust most of the urban myths - unless it makes you drink faster, I don''t really see any possible rational explanation for why this would be true...

I saw (in a movie, I think) young people ''drinking'' vodka by sloshing it on their eye under the premise that it would enter the blood more directly and cause a quicker or stronger hit.

It seemed (to me) to have a vein of truth - is that rubbish too?

Oh my gosh. I would worry about blindness. What a bizarre thing to do.
