Upset about my food...

Leave a bad review for them on Yelp!

I do feel your annoyance. I'm not a vegetarian but am cannot tolerate much dairy and have had SO many places ignore my request for the dish to be made without cheese added. The one time I did complain, the employee told me to SCRAP IT OFF!!! That was a chain sandwich shop, though...nothing fancy...

I am not suggesting that you fly off the handle....but I did have a friend who was in this exact situation (religious vegetarian) and she did get, um, rather in their face about it and she ended up with a $1000 gift card to the restaurant. I mean, seriously, people's morals, religions, and allergies are important! You asked, they failed, they should at least comp you the meal.

Sorry this happened to you, it's so jarring when you do your due diligence and it still goes cattywhompus sometimes. But, if it helps, I personally feel that intention has a lot to do with morality. It was never your intention to eat the meat and you even asked all the right questions to avoid it, and then you stopped when you found out the food contained meat, so I think you are morally in the clear.

A thousand dollar gift card? That is unacceptable! Who could take such a thing as that over complaining about a meal? The resturant must have been afraid of being sued or something! I would be embarrassed to take that.

Yes, well, she was a rather over the top person in general and antics like that are why we don't hang out much anymore. The restaurant was in the wrong and I thought they should comp the meal and fix it with a new plate, but I agree with you.

YayTacori - sorry for the situation!

Really, though, please do not follow any of the advice about going "batsh*t crazy."

Will you possibly give them another chance? Could you order the food in person and mention what happened last time?

Mistakes do happen, EVERYWHERE in EVERY type of setting...imagine if EVERYONE would go "batsh*t" crazy for EVERY mistake made. Sheeeesh (this isn't to you specifically but in general).

I think ya know what to do and how to do it in the most respectful and adult like way. Let us know what happens.
