I currently have a ring made by Mark Morrell, but I just fell in love with a Leon Mege setting. I''d like to keep my original diamond and just transfer it to a new setting. But what do you recommend I do with my original setting? It''s in great condition since I''ve hardly worn it. Should I try selling it? And how does one go about it? I don''t know if I want to try eBay. Or is there a way of reusing the platinum and diamonds? Please help...

If you are interested in selling it I would contact bill at pearlman''s instead of ebay. I consigned a few things with him and he was great to work with. His cut is very fair as well!

ditto for me too. plus, there are far more folks who visit pearlmans who would know who Mark Morrell is over folks on ebay. you''d probably get a better price for it too.

I''d do either of the above. I just had my old setting set with a rhodolite garnet... really lovely pink one. It''s been fun wearing it again, and since my e-ring is out for repair... I''ll be wearing it until the other gets back.

If you really want to sell it, Bill Pearlman as has been suggested. And I bet it would be snatched up quickly, maybe by a PS''er. But love the idea of putting a nice gemstone in it and wearing it as a RHR. A sapphire would be stunning in that setting.

Thanks for all the advice! I''ll definitely have to check out the Pearlman site.

I agree with all the advice given. Do you already have a RHR? Do you still like the setting but just found the Leon better for your e-ring?

My first choice would be setting a colored stone in the setting to make a beautiful RHR. If that is not practical for you, I would consign it with Pearlmans.

If you decide to list it for sale, will you let me know where? I love it
