A question for those of you who''ve upgraded your diamonds at WF: were you able to reuse the original setting, or did you have to start from scratch? Is there any possibility of mixing and matching (e.g., the old shank with a new head)? Thanks!
If the stone is substantially larger than your existing stone (or won''t sit right in the existing head), then you might not be able to reuse it.
Sometimes it''s possible to replace just the head of the setting, leaving the rest of the ring intact. That really depends on how the existing ring is designed and if there is enough room in the design to accommodate the larger stone.
The best thing you can do provide your salesperson with pictures of your existing setting and a copy of the grading report of your existing stone. S/he can consult with the production team to see what your options might be.
Good luck - sounds like a fun project is on the horizon!
Thanks Maisie and Allison! I have the older Tiffany knife-edge and wanted to change the head to the newer one (and upgrade to a larger stone). I emailed my salesperson, and we''ll see what happens.
I know it''s only been a day and a half, but the last time I wanted to start a project, I was a little more patient waiting for responses...he ultimately never got back to me (after we had gone back and forth a couple times), and that was that. Any pointers on how to politely switch reps?
I''m a little late to this but here goes.
I do think it depends on the setting that said my setting is from WF and I recently modified it a bit and I was able to use the same shank but I got a new head and I had to pay for that and the setting.
I think it worked b/c I did only a mini upgrade so they were able to make the changes w/o the ring looking weird or anything.
I''m sure a rep will get back to you shortly they are all super nice and prompt over there. My rep is Katie she is flawlessly helpful you could talk to her but I agree with the others Lesley is great as well.
Good luck!
Thanks, everyone. I didn''t get to see Allison''s email before closing time last night, but lo and behold, my rep just emailed me, so it''s all good. Thanks again!
