So here's the story behind the ering:

About 9 years ago, my then fiance proposed with the radiant ering. I was thrilled and feeling like the luckiest girl in the world. I wore the ring proudly for almost 9 years. I got many compliments on it. It was a hefty solid platinum ring. However, something was lacking in the stone and I felt the setting was heavy duty for my small hands. So, after 2 kids, I was feeling the itch of a change and after much convincing, hubby okayed an upgrade. Actually, it's more of a renovation... so I opted for a new custom setting and a new stone that performs much much better! I had to go with the original jeweler in order to trade in my original ring and get a credit. I really hope I don't suffer from major DSS anytime soon! I am already feeling the effects of it. Ring size is a 4.

Here are the pics of my original ering(1.03ct radiant, VS2, H, had a 79% table which was large!)

Here are more of my new oval (1.23ct, VS2, J, depth 60.2, table 56, 8.44x5.92x3.56, platinum Beverly K style setting)

I love the oval! So gorgeous and looks perfect on you!

I love the ring - still plenty of finger coverage but a lighter, daintier look.

Do you think a spacer would be helpful??

Looks so pretty! I love your nail polish too ... dusky violety grey? Do tell! Re: the spacer ... I wouldn't add to the stack right now. But you could look into adding miligrain to the wedding band if you wanted it to *match* more. Kinda like the set as is though.

CONGRATS!

lovely - congrats!!

Very pretty! A beautiful change!

What a beautiful set! The curves of the oval really compliment the angles of the side stones & the result is truly captivating. I don't know how you can get anything done during the day other than admiring these rings again & again! I'm also in the process of an upgrade (I'm an ovalholic) so my new wedding set will also have an oval center stone. Would you mind sharing the width of the side stones in your e-ring along with the width of your w-band? The band widths look like the perfect compliment to your center stone. It's not always easy to get the right balance but you've certainly done it! :appl: :appl:

Roxy, please post your new oval pics when u get them so I can admire!!! Both my ering and wedding band are exactly 2mm wide. the tapered baguettes on the ering become slightly larger when they reach the center stone. the band gets just slightly wider to about 3.5mm wide at it gets closer to the center. Don't knowthe exact size of the stones though.... I hope this helps! what kind of ring are you getting????

It is beautiful. Congratulations.

Thanks for the details of your bands Fiona, that helps me to better compare the length of the oval with the band widths (& explains why your set is so well proportioned). I'm working on an upgraded wedding set, where the e-ring & w-band will be eternity bands of RB H&A melee, and my center stone will be an oval (of course) :D! I just think that ovals are both unique & classic and have a great sparkle factor w/ a rather large spread. Enjoy your gorgeous set =)

BEAUTIFUL :appl: I love the old world charm to the setting
