My husband and I are going to upgrade my diamond in my e-ring. I currently have a .48ct RB, VS1, I and I''m trying to muddle through all this new information to help me decide what I want to upgrade to. I know I want a carat and I''m deciding between an asscher and a square cushion cut. Opinions? I would like to know if anyone knows whether a square cushion can be set in a trelis setting (I have basically the vatche x prong in yellow gold)? If anyone has a pic of this it would be most helpful.

I was thinking of going to look at this diamond- can anyone tell me if it''s worth looking at? I''m attepmting to attach the EGL report- hope it works! If this isn''t worth checking out, please tell me why so I know what to look for in the next one.

Thanks so much for any help you''re able to give! I''ve found this form to be so informative and fun!

Firstly, do you want the stone to look the size of a 1ct RB? As square shapes, asschers in particular, face up a lot smaller than RBs. So you would need a considerably larger asscher to look the same size as a 1ct RB.

You can have a square stone set in a trellis setting, but I don''t think you could use the same setting as your RB stone was in.

I don''t mind if it faces up a little smaller. I know I want square, and I know I don''t want princess so now I''m torn between asscher and square cushion... ahhh if only I could have both!

Oooh!! What a delicious dilemma! I would say go and try on tonns of different rings with both centre stones and see which one speaks to you.

If you want a fancy, try Mark at ERD I believe he gets great cushions. Or, if you are looking for a kickin asscher, post some pics here at storm will help out!
